what did you shoot today?

Shot a big Ol Hog this morning. 250 pounds and some serious cutters. Luckily, he was in the trap and I wasn’t. Used a Winchester 9422 and a round between the eyes. Had to get help to get that big rascal out of the trap. Black hog had a blonde tail. I don’t think it was gender confusion in his case. Been watching him on camera for weeks. Wife wanted him gone so the new crop of fawns wouldn’t be threatened. And gone he is…

Been playing with different powders and some Hornady 55gr Sp rounds. Amazing at how much different powders change the accuracy of the same bullet. Took 3 different loads out today and had zero consistency. Was a perfect morning, made no changes to rifle setup from my standard zero. One powder was off 2-3 inches and high right, the other was low and off 2 inches. All seating depth was the same between the rounds. My benchmark rounds were dead on.

Was an interesting learning time at the range.

Shot Saturdays (6-8-24) UBR match at Boyle County (home of the UBR Nationals) and won the unlimited class, while we didn't have many shooters the 510 (260-250 100/200) total score was pretty good, I had several kissers (near miss) but the amazing thing is I shot the 30BR!! I took @AlNyhus advise and shot the N130 with the BIB 112s
Didn't shoot today but did last Tuesday and worked on a Ezell Tuner for the 6PPC and looks pretty good now, Monday I have plans to go back to the range and shoot the 30BR, I have a load and now will to the tuning test they Mike recommends for each tuner to determine the correct setting. Love going to the range, my "me" time. Not sure what gun I'll shoot next Saturday at Boyle County (home of the UBR Nationals). Always enjoy seeing "the guys"!
Well the tuner test worked!! The 30BR was humming! Wom the 100/200 and grand agg.

Beautiful day to shoot yesterday, 80* no wind, low humidity. Finnish testing 130gr.Swift Scirocco in my 270Rum.
Settled on 87.1grs of H- 1000 avg. 3575fps. 9sd 5 shots, 200yds..85 spread,
Fed215M, 3rd firing on ADG brass, 3.825oal. A mild load went as high as 90grs at 3718, 3702, 3719 with ejector marks. This thing's a Hoot to Shoot.

Warm, bright sunshine, and humid, but finalized load for the .460 S&W.
I was astonished to watch the Slo-Mo videos, so took snapshots of the paused clips that surprised even me…..

Reflection of sunlight off of the projectiles is the only thing I can conclude.

Shot yesterday at Buck Creek outside Summerset, KY. Scored a 499, won the 200 yard and finished 2nd in the grand agg, the wind............. was well the wind, could not make up it's mind what it wanted to do, I was really disappointed in match 3 with a 64 then went on to shoot a 62 in the 4th match! DANG!!! Always have fun seeing the guys and telling lies! Went on to shoot a 62 in the first match at 200! Ain't that just crazy?
