what did you shoot today?

A month ago I bought a Ruger #3 from Rock Islands Auctions that had been restocked with some nice walnut and rebarreled in 32-40 WIN . Found two different bullets available w\copper jackets (Hornady 165 FTX and 142_Hammer). Been testing for optimal COAL using VVN 135. Got 3\4 " groups for both bullets by varying the COAL. Although my powder loads are very consistent the velocities have a delta of 50 fps as measured by a Garmin. The best group, no surprise, had a delta of 25 fps. It also happened to be the COAL that likely resulted in the bullet being jammed into the lands. Ready to retest the COAL and vary powder loads.

IMR4227
AA2200
Berger 40grHPIMG_5716.jpegwanted to get IMR 4227 to work.. not gonna happen- even though a primer change did look promising

Kelby Panda TR .308 in a GRS HYBRID Stock . Vortex G.E. ...600 yards . Two strings . Managed a 196 - 7X , and a 195 - 5x . Temps were starting to go up and the old winter load opened up a bit . Time to drop a few tenths .

My HK USP 40 and my Springfield Hell Cat
Wanted to see if the ole Dillon 650 could still produce some good rounds. It’s been awhile since I’ve knocked the dust off of it and loaded some rounds. Ole girl still makes some pretty fair ammo.

Dove headfirst into reloading much more accurate ammo. My AR's are killer SHTF pieces, but they aren't sub MOA stuff like my boltgun is. Bought a Hornady inline bullet seating micrometer and now playing with seating depths. Pretty interesting stuff! My son, who majored in chemistry and math would have a blast if he was a shooter. Just not his thing.

Found a mother load of Alliant 1200-R and bought multiple 8lb cannisters for a ridiculously low price. Been shooting 69 grain RMR's/Varget and now playing with loads of Alliant and CFE223. Amazing how much difference there is between just powders.

A person could get anal with all this!!

Didn't shoot today but did last Tuesday and worked on a Ezell Tuner for the 6PPC and looks pretty good now, Monday I have plans to go back to the range and shoot the 30BR, I have a load and now will to the tuning test they Mike recommends for each tuner to determine the correct setting. Love going to the range, my "me" time. Not sure what gun I'll shoot next Saturday at Boyle County (home of the UBR Nationals). Always enjoy seeing "the guys"!

We had our long range match at our club today. We shoot the SR (200 yard ) target at 400 yards (the longest we have). We allow rested and rear bags and unlimited scopes in a 2 stage match of 20 rounds each.
I decided to shoot the first stage with my 24" AR in 223 using an 85 grain Barnes Match Burner resulting in a 196 - 2X.
In the second stage, I switched to my 22" AR in 6mm Grendel shooting the 112 grain Match Burner ending with a 194 - 4X. I plan to shoot this rifle in a 1000 yard match at Perry at the end of the month in the AR Tactical.
Both rifles were shot off bipods & rear bags.

Got the ODCR 243AI out on the bench today. Pretty warm but wanted to see what the tuner needed since it is hotter out.
