What cartridge to launch the new high BC bullets?

6XC variant. We're using Palma brass, pushing them back and down with PBike dies to 30° and leaving necks around .350 minimum. Usually running over 3100 29-30" XCal bbl. Great accuracy, ones & twos with 107 Sierras. Using RL17, H4350 but looking for a powder for less throat wear.

Just go with the strait 243. Everything is available and cheaper. Two Broughton 7 twist bbls and berger 115 lasted for just past 1700 benchrest rnds. Just my .02.
Are you using 243 or Palma brass?
Is the BC of the 115s helping as much on paper as the calculator suggests?

The H2o case capacity of the 6mm Competition Match in Winchester brass runs 56-56.5. Remember these capacities very in ALL these cartridges depending on the brass you choose to use. I have a 6mm Competition Match br/f-class rifle, Hall action, 30" Krieger H. Palma. shoots great with 115 DTAC and H1000. Under 1200 down barrel and has a lot of life left. I shoot ftr now and haven't shot it in 3-4 years.

Let's see now. You want to shoot the new DTAC 115 RBT. Who brought this bullet to market and has more experience with this bullet than anyone else on the planet ? What case did this person develop and use to shoot from 100 to 1700 yards with a bazillion national records ? Hmmm. Think I might want to go with the 6XC if shooting the DTACs :)

T2K, 30 inch 1:7.5 5R Krieger, Norma brass, DTAC 115, 39.5g H4350, MV = 3000fps, SD at around 5, 1/4 MOA all day long, 2000 round barrel life. Deadly from 100 to 1000yds.

Agree completely. Keep it simple. No fireforming, easy dies to find, etc. David Tubb has already done all of the homework for you. Only thing I'm doing different from the post above is using RL-17. Couldn't find H4350 when my rifle was built so I bought a fair supply of 17. Use 38.5g with naked 115's at 3000 FPS with outstanding accuracy.

I am using Lapua 243 brass. The rifle shoots really well in the wind. I like the 115's over the 105 hybrids but I can't say one is better than the other. They just work for me.

New to shooting long dist. Never shot competition only targets and prairie dogs.
When I sold my range and retail bus., Remington gave me a Sendero, 700 in 308. I kept the action, ordered a Broughton 6SLR barrel, 30" 1x8 specifically for 105/107 bullets.
I also got as a gift a NF scope. I sighted the gun last year in SW Wy. at 7,000 ft. elev. and shot 2s at 100 yrs, then out to 300 and shot 1.45 and inside 8" at 1,000. We have a backstop called the "mile rock" at 1787 yards. A 12" hole in the face allows us to see the hits. I made two shots to zero then 6 shots inside the hole. Not a fluke as my son sat down and shot another 3 shots into the hole. The young man who built the gun from scratch also shot it at 1,000 and 1787 and did the same shooting.
I'm 73 yrs old and not as steady as I once was but it seems to me unless the heavier bullets are mandatory for you, the changing of the 343 brass to 30 degree shoulder and 105 gr bullet would also be just fine.
I loaded RL19, 43.5 gr and get 3090 fps. with Lapua brass and Fed gold primers.
I have a recent invite to shoot with the Desert Sharpshooters in Phx. and play not do so after first of the year.

Merry Christmas all.
