What cartridge to launch the new high BC bullets?

OK folks, I need some help.

Like to chamber a barrel for my f-class rifle with a cartridge that has optimal powder capacity to make good use of the high BC new 6mm 110 Sierra and 115 DTACs.

From my understanding;
Straight 243 has a capacity of 55 grs of water
243 SLR. 54 grs water
6XC 49 grs water
6 Competition Match. ?
6 Egolf slightly less then the 6CM ?
243 IMP *30 a tad more then the SLR ?

Edited to include the 6-284. 60.2 grs water.
6mm Remington 52 grs water
6mm Remington AI ?

What is the capacity of the CM, Egolf & imp *30?
Did I miss any other good candidates?
Plan to use 28-30" 4 grove barrel. With the intention of getting 3050+ velocity.

Thanks for the help

6x47L or any of it's improved variants will get you there. When Lapua releases 6.5 Creedmoor brass witht he small primer pocket a 6 Creedmoor should easily be right there.

Edited list above to include 6-284, 6 Remmy and 6 Remmy AI
Thinking a load of 1000 behind a 115 aught to fill the bill and have a little longer barrel life then a straight 243???????;)

All of the cartridges you are looking at are way to overbore. By the time you get a loud tuned you won't have enough shots on the barrel to shoot more then half a seasons woth of matches. I would suggest a 6x47 or 6brx. You need at least 1200rds of life. Most of the cases you listed there are only going to net you 1000 or less of match quality shooting.

Thanks for the reply.
I currently shoot a dasher and love it. Maybe a little more zip isn't worth the cost of doing business.

anxious to see how the small primer works out.
I made my 6.5 creed brass from 308 Palma brass some year ago and loved it..I used I for hunting..I loaded RL17 and a 140 VLD CCI 450 primer...2,950 FPS 24" barrel....under 1/2 moa...I have shot it down to zero deg F with no issues.
I smoked a whitetail doe at 450 yards in a unreal 25 mph wind...lol it was so bad we should have just went home but we hid behind some rocks to keep warm...it was 20 deg F with a wind chill below zero.. Now that Lapua is making the brass my next barrel will be a 6.5 creed 26" I am wondering how much more speed a 26" can get with that load..then RL26 I don't know I think 3,100 maybe...I have no doubt the CCI 450 is up to the task..not even a issue...

Only half moa? Was it a really skinny barrel?

Under 1/2 moa about .350ish to be exact and it was only a factory Savage model 10 predator hunter to be exact..
I really like it but had too many rifles and only made 70 pieces from 308 palma and was not interested in making more so I sold the rifle and wish I would not have now I need to barrel on the rifles I am shooting now..

x47 L will get .25 every time easy. I would think that a creedmoor with the same small primer pocket would be able to do as well. I even have a Savag Axis in 6.5x47 that would shoot .25moa just surprised it did not shoot better. I am contemplating a 6.5creedmoor for fclass but if its not going to shoot under .25moa it may not work.

Let's see now. You want to shoot the new DTAC 115 RBT. Who brought this bullet to market and has more experience with this bullet than anyone else on the planet ? What case did this person develop and use to shoot from 100 to 1700 yards with a bazillion national records ? Hmmm. Think I might want to go with the 6XC if shooting the DTACs :)

T2K, 30 inch 1:7.5 5R Krieger, Norma brass, DTAC 115, 39.5g H4350, MV = 3000fps, SD at around 5, 1/4 MOA all day long, 2000 round barrel life. Deadly from 100 to 1000yds.

The long dasher nearly the same butt with Lapua brass, correct?

We should get back on topic though. Has anyone tried a straight BR with 115s?

A chap called John Carmichael formerly of the GB F-Class team did this with the original 115gn DTAC some years back at a time when the sevens were just being adopted. A heavily compressed load of Viht N550 produced MVs from a 32-inch barrel ahead of one of the very strong and tightly breeched RPA 4-lug actions that many on this forum refused to believe. He shot it with some success including at one of the big US meetings (the SOA IIRC), but it was basically asking far too much of the case size.

IMHO, the XC and similar capacity cases come into their own with a good 115gn bullet, but at maximum velocities and pressures from powders like Re17 (Nitrochemie Reload Swiss RS60), don't expect a great barrel accuracy life - so you might as well shoot a seven with better external ballistics in F-Open. The much lighter recoil and torque do have advantages in Bench Rest though, but the 6 Dasher seems to do better overall here though.

Lapuas 6x47 with a Dasher 40d shoulder.
Sometimes I fail to articulate my thots.
What I meant to say was, isn't the 6XC nearly identical in case capacity to the long dasher, with the long dasher having a bit of an advantage by using Lapua brass and small primer pocket?
