Called a LGS today and ask about powder and as a side note I ask if they had the competition Jewell trigger, response was "yes, I have one", I ask price and he said $325! By the long silence he as if there was anything else he could help with and I said, isn't that expensive for a Jewell? He said "it was but not now as you can't get them!" WOW! so if you need one for an arm and half a leg let me know!

Wow! Glad I have a couple in my box. If you’re in a pinch, the Bix ‘n Andy is a good trigger. I have a couple Tac Sports and like them.
I have wanted to try a Bix but have always been turned off by the price compared to a Jewell. Maybe my chance to try one out has come. I could sell my used Jewell to buy a new Bix and still have money to spare

I am an old dude and don't compete at all. I just sold a Savage model 12 and am replacing it with a custom build. I put a Shilen on my Lone peak action. It breaks at 2.2 oz. every time. Several times better than my Savages.

May sound like a really dumb question but, if one preferred a little heavier pull can you feel the difference between a jewell and a properly adjusted stock trigger? Do you think, all other things being equal, that a jewell can help improve accuracy in such a case?

Had this conversation with Zack at Old Dominion yesterday, we were talking triggers about an up coming build. My history as always been after market triggers but basic stuff like trigger tech primary or Timney, I have quite a few of both. I asked Zack what his favorite trigger was and why, immediate response was a jewel. I told him I’ve always been Leary of triggers that go off with a couple ounces of pressure, I asked him if they were safe in his opinion and he gave me a detailed description of how installs them, the adjustments you can make, safeguards etc. After that conversation I understand better how they work and their dependability. Long story short I’m gonna try one on this build, a jewel set lighter than I’m use to, a few ounces. I don’t shoot benchrest or F-Class, just a hunter who enjoys reloading and shooting, I take a lot of young people hunting and shooting and the vast majority of my rifles have crisp two pound triggers because many of those rifles get used by people who don’t have much experience at all, it’s a safety thing but on the rifles I use and only I use I’m gonna play around with lighter triggers. I’m not sure id pay what that LGS was asking though, short supply or not.

BR competition spoiled me. I used to run stock Remington 700's (adjusted to my liking) for hunting and target shooting. Once I got a couple of years of BR competition under my belt I demanded more accuracy from my hunting guns and a trigger replacement with Jewell HVR's filled that need without breaking the bank.

Being different is my down fall.
Had lots of Jewel's in years past, even a 2 stage. Then went to Barnard Action with a Factory 2 stage Trigger.
Game over. I am a 2 stage for ever gun nut. Barnard's all found new Homes.
Shoot F/Class Now Tom Meyers makes very nice 2 stage Triggers.
Not always pick up the Phone and get one,but worth the wait .
Yes 2nd stage in 0Z.

We have about the same story. I don't compete either, but I love to shoot small holes at far away targets and varmints.
Zack talked me through the set-up as well, and now I feel good about installing and adjusting the triggers.
