Yep, Zack went thru the details with me as well. Helped me with understanding how to adjust and get the feel I wanted. I swapped the A spring out to C spring which is the lightest of the three offered and needed in order to get the feel I like.Had this conversation with Zack at Old Dominion yesterday, we were talking triggers about an up coming build. My history as always been after market triggers but basic stuff like trigger tech primary or Timney, I have quite a few of both. I asked Zack what his favorite trigger was and why, immediate response was a jewel. I told him I’ve always been Leary of triggers that go off with a couple ounces of pressure, I asked him if they were safe in his opinion and he gave me a detailed description of how installs them, the adjustments you can make, safeguards etc. After that conversation I understand better how they work and their dependability. Long story short I’m gonna try one on this build, a jewel set lighter than I’m use to, a few ounces. I don’t shoot benchrest or F-Class, just a hunter who enjoys reloading and shooting, I take a lot of young people hunting and shooting and the vast majority of my rifles have crisp two pound triggers because many of those rifles get used by people who don’t have much experience at all, it’s a safety thing but on the rifles I use and only I use I’m gonna play around with lighter triggers. I’m not sure id pay what that LGS was asking though, short supply or not.
Once you get use to the 1.5oz, one day you will be trying to fire a shot, and the rifle wont cooperate. The action is cocked, the safety is off, you think you are putting lots of pressure on the trigger, but in reality you are at the place where all shooters eventually get w/a lite trigger, that now feels like you are pulling the latch on your truck door. YOU HAVE ARRIVED.Yep, Zack went thru the details with me as well. Helped me with understanding how to adjust and get the feel I wanted. Zack's always helpful like that. It's not just triggers - He even gave me some tips on using my Hillbilly milling machine. (Dremel!). We kid each other about that a lot.Yep, Zack went thru the details with me as well. Helped me with understanding how to adjust and get the feel I wanted. When you open JEWELLS web page it tells you why they are not taking orders. If you will look on my web site, the prices are current and INSTOCK. Why drive 45 min to find a closed door, when I deliver a HVRTS for the SAME MONEY $205.00. LDSHas the price of Jewell triggers really increased like the D-bag at the LGS said, or is he FOS, and just another price gouger?
I just checked the Jewell website, and it doesn't seem possible to add a trigger, e.g. their HVRTS, to the shopping cart. Price still says $205. (Their shop is 45 minutes from my house; maybe I should drive over there, and see what's what...)
That matching address thing puts a crimp in my building process!I know nothing other than whats posted on their web site. Currently my inventory
is good, and I think my order form is fixed for the ones who have previously been declined for unknown reasons. The following is a common mistake the buyer makes because they don't take the time to read.
This notice is posted in RED on my web site SHIPPING AND BILLING ADDRESS MUST MATCH, or your order will be declined. I want to be your JEWELL TRIGGER DEALER as long as my supply lasts. LDS
The whole point in higher end triggers is the ability to go lower & have smoother than stock.May sound like a really dumb question but, if one preferred a little heavier pull can you feel the difference between a jewell and a properly adjusted stock trigger? Do you think, all other things being equal, that a jewell can help improve accuracy in such a case?
I have one in the safe. It was taken off a Hall action to be replaced by a Jewell. As long as it stays where it’s at I don’t have anything to complain aboutWhat? No negative comments about Shilen triggers? I am disappointed.![]()
Larry is out and doesn't know when he'll have more. He is my Jewell dealer and the reason I found out Jewell quit producing.Check with Larry Scott..

Those scammers sold me a lesson, and cost me a chunk of change. As they say the best lessons are the ones you buy. LDSThat matching address thing puts a crimp in my building process!I have to plan ahead if I’m in Delaware. I finally got smarter and have those extras now.
I know why you do it, tho. I hate those scammers!

As far as I know the best you can get out of a standard factory 700 is 1lb if the person knows what he is doing.A factory Remington redone by anybody ain't even on the same planet as a Jewell.
Does that mean it is for sale cheap?I have one in the safe. It was taken off a Hall action to be replaced by a Jewell. As long as it stays where it’s at I don’t have anything to complain about![]()
