Well, it started Jewell Trigger heist!

All of my competition rifles have aftermarket triggers except one. That one is a Savage with an Acutriger. It breaks around 1.2# and I have to get used to it all over every time I use that rifle. I prefer a light but not too lite pull, around 4-6 oz. I currently have 2 Jewells, one Hart, one Shilen and another on the way for a new build. Honestly I have no issues with any of them.
Good job on the Savage. I could not get either of mine safely below 4 ozs. and they varied between 4 and 6 on any given day. And they were not twins on the feel.

I install a very light firing pin spring in my bolt when fitting a trigger to one of my rifles. The first time I did this, I was surprised at how much force it takes for the initial break on a Jewell.

I don't understand the problem here with trigger pull. I like my very light. Have no trouble getting the Jewel down to 1.5 OZ or less. They come with several springs and using the lightest one always works. As for price, really does not appear as though it has changed. Stick with Scott and you won't be sorry.

If you are having trouble with them, you are doing something wrong.

I only have hunting rifles and I only have 4 Jewell triggers but I've ordered each of them with a 3.5 lb pull.

The reason I ordered a 3.5 lb pull is because they didn't offer me a 4 lb pull.

I've got my PTA trigger at 7ozs., took a lot of tinkering to get it there. Any lower and it trips, but it is heavy compared to my 2oz. Jewel or the 2oz. competition in the other Savage action. Savage could go lower on their BR rifles but I'd be willing to bet the lawyers say no no.

I agree, stick with LDS, I've never gotten an extra spring with any Jewell. My last Jewell from Larry was a few months ago and no extra spring, I got it down to 1.43 oz. I guessing you can order the springs?

Yea, you can order the A B & C springs from Jewell. The C spring is the lightest pull. Not hard to swap out and of course re-adjust.

Remove the small set screw in the trigger shoe itself.

Replace with desired spring then re-install the set screw and re-adjust
