Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Hi everyone,
I'm from across the pond over in the UK and just starting on the F Open circuit with a straight .284Win. Been shooting for years and reloading for a few but now stepping up into the dizzy world of F Class. Hope to pick up and share tips/info. Best Regards

Hi I am Ramon Harper. I love to hunt and shoot. I love to hunt mostly with tc contenders. Looks like this is a good forum that might have good information.

Hello,
I'm Mike from Mars, Pa., that is. I'm new to this forum, but certainly not new to shooting and reloading. Between my wife of fifty plus years and I, we have over a CENTURY of experience. We are looking forward to this great experience of question and answer sessions. We used to have a question answering service for the general public at gunshows all over our wonderful, blessed Country, liability issues caused us to quit it.
Anybody out there have any pet loads for a 30/40 Krag ACKLEY IMPROVED?
Sincerely,
Goldenrod7

I'm JK from El Paso, Texas. I shoot a lot. Everything from 22 pistols, AR's (.556 &7.62), M1A Supermatch, M1 Garand, Remington 700's (.220 Swift and .308), .300 WM and large caliber pistols and lots in between. I currently shoot the NRA and CMP High Power matches and am in the process of working up loads for the M1A, M1, and my new AR15 A2. I am also working with my 700's to see what I can do at long range with them. Both are .308's; one being an SPS with a 21" barrel; the other is a VS with a 26" barrel. Both of them have 1/12 twists, so anything over 600 yards may be a limiting factor. We will just have to see.

Hi gang! I finally decided to quit lurking and join the club. My name is jd, and I've been a reloader since I was thirteen years old. I'm now 58, so I should know a lot more than I probably do.

My latest interest is a 22 BR Rem. that I acquired in a 40X rifle. It's the kind of rig that deserves more attention than I've given to most of my other guns, and I've learned several twists that I've never used before, and need to learn a lot more. This seems like the best forum to do that.

I belong to a few other forums, and some here may know me already. If so, I'll keep it a secret if you want. ;D

I appreciate in advance any kindness and knowledge that y'all may share with me. jd

Hello. I am a Hunter/reloader just lurking mostly for improving my reloading techniques. Been reloading for about 20 years or so. My rifles are hunting rifles, with my three favorites in the stable being M700 Classic 8x57, M70 Classic FWT 8x57mm, and Ruger #3 30-40.

Morning folks from sunny / showery Northern Ireland.
Ive been shooting for the last 15 years or so & reloading for the last 3. Looking forward to picking the brains of the guru's on here :)

All the best

Hi all; Thank you for the add. I am building some "old school" projects and ran across your site, very informative. My current projects are an 8mm-06 AI on G98 action and a 6.5-08 AI on a Type 38 sporter. These are not original, nor meant to be, but just my spin on some solid old actions to see where my 'smithing skills will take them.

Hello all and a Happy Memorial Day. I found this forum when looking for some information on high power type iron sights. I will post my questions shortly. I started out with NRA Jr Rifle using a Mossberg 144LSA - back before they bothered to put serial numbers on them ;D I shot Intercollegiate small bore pistol for a couple of years then joined the Navy. Firearms training comprised 10 rounds with a .22 LR rifle and 8 rounds with a clapped out 1911. That was it! While at A school I qualified Pistol Expert - again with a clapped out 1911. After 6 years I went back to school - Purdue University. I figured that a Big 10 midwestern university should have a pistol team. I had a High Standard Supermatic Trophy in hand and a Clark match 1911 being built. But Purdue had no pistol team :( Since them my shooting has been pretty much informal.

Fast forward a LOT of years... I have over the past 2 or 3 years discovered clear plastic apertures for the front globe sight and most recently the red dot sight. While I have some nice scopes, I still like iron sights.

I will no doubt post some head scratcher questions and I hope I can answer a few questions as sell.

Regards,

Ken

Hello from Idaho.

Been lurking long enough.

Started reloading in the early '70s to save money. I am not a bench rest shooter, but like to have all the confidence in my ammunition as possible.

My favorite cartridge is the I have in my hands. If it goes bang, I am interested.

OldmanFCSA thanks all who Welcome new members to the Reloading Forum

Hello all,

Brian from California. I hunt mostly and am reloading for .270, 7mm Dakota, .300WBY, and 22-250Rem. Always interested in learning more about reloading and I am told this is the place. Particularly interested in learning the 7mm Dakota with heavier bullets.

John from Ky, good to be here. Been reading the Forum for a long time, thought it was time to put my two cents in. I dabble in a little bit of everything: F-class, 3-gun, IPSC, steel showdown, clays, hunting, varminting, as long as I can smell the gunpowder! Everything from 20VT to 458 socom, and still filling in the blanks. I'll be depending on all of you to continue the great advice I have already pulled from this terrific forum!

Hi,

Jase from NZ. Shoot mainly at the local 100m range and the odd bit of hunting. Currently reloading for the .223, .260, .30-06 and 375H&H.

Have been reading the daily bulletin for quite some time and decided to give the forum a go for more detailed info.

Hello Mark from New Zealand.

Currently I reload for a 223 used for FTR competition by my teenage son.
The rifle is a Savage Model 12 223 26" 1:7 twist barrel.
I load 24.7 gr Varget equivalent (ADI AR2208) into Norma cases with an 80 gr A-Max projectile.
Shoots competitively out to 900 yards, will do 1000 yards if not too windy.

We are getting a new rifle built around a Barnard action in 308 for next season.
It will be fitted to a 32" 1:10 twist barrel so we will be spending some time on load development.
Using Lapua Palma cases we'll continue to use small rifle primers and AR2208.
We haven't settled on projectiles but will start with some 155 gr that were donated to us.

Howdy all. Not new to shooting - been doing that about 58 years (I'm 66). Not new to reloading - been doing that since the 1990s. I am however new to trying to load the perfect cartridges for my 7mm-08 rifles. I have 3, the most accurate has been my Remington 700 but just purchased a Sako A7 I'm dying to try out.

I am a bit concerned with the chamber on the Sako. Using the Hornady OAL guage last night I found the Sako to be .050 deeper than the Remington (almost 1/16" difference) using the exact same set of Hornady Match bullets. That mean loads not even close if I'm trying to stay within .005 of the lands.
