Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Aloha, new to the forums. My goal is to learn as much as possible. I've been shooting for years and last year I got into the reloading madness. Have several Dillons. One of my many tools are a Barrett MRAD 308/338 with Nightforce optic.

Hey y'all,

Nothing fancy, just load for mostly standard calibers for hunting and plinking. I just love to shoot, and reloading is a relaxing hobby for me. Looking forward to learning from some of the great minds in the reloading field. ;)

Hello! I am new to precision loading, but not new to reloading. I have reloaded bulk ammo for years for both rifle and pistol. I have tinkered with a few things in the past, but now I am really getting hooked on getting the most out of a factory rifle. I mainly use my rifles for varmint hunting. I have decided to post a few pictures of the reloading work bench I just built, which brought together my two favorite hobbies - shooting and woodworking.

If anyone is interested in the building process of the bench, I do have a website where I posted several pictures of the build in the "blog". Its is www.creeativewoodworking.com

Thank you!

Andy

Hello! I'm reloading and shooting mainly small caliber center-fire but also shoot a Remington 7005r 308 and a Savage 6.5X284 F class rifle. I have been shooting a very long time. I am looking for reload information on 22 Hornet. Loading for a CZ 527 Hornet. My handle is Wild Bill which my unit named me in Vietnam.

Hello all!! My name is John, I'm from the metro Memphis area. I got into reloading about 2-3 years ago hoping to be able to produce more accurate ammo than the mass produced stuff in stores. I've been a long time lurker and decided to join the other day to ask a question here and there.
My current target gun is a Remington 700 barreled action 308 with a Bell and Carlson tactical stock, Jewell trigger, topped with a Vortex Viper HS-T 6-24x50.
I also have a Browning BAR 308 that shoots amazingly well for an autoloader.

Hello my name is Marty, I am from Montana,I just purchase a 6.5x284 trying my long range deal, also shoot 300 win mag I am trying to find the right load data or a least start somewhere with the 6.5 then move on to the 300,I have been reloading for years BUT I lack the knowledge of the good guys ,so I will be reading as much as possible here to try to figure it out. happy shooting :-)

Hello, I am Barry and have been reloading for a year and shooting since I was given a pellet gun for my 9th birthday. I only reload rifle ammo for 22-250 and .308. I got into reloading for two reasons, challenge to get more accuracy and lack of factory ammo loads.
To date I have gone though 8 lbs of powder and 1,500 bullets.
I have a shooting bench behind my house with targets out to 300 yards. Those tall buildings in downtown DC get in the way. Just kidding about the buildings they are really trees.
For the past 3 years I have been shooting lots of groundhogs and last year I shot my first coyote who just happened to be in the wrong place at the right time.
I have shot about 100 Ghogs in the past 3 years. I have about 3,000 acres to hunt and hope to add another 3,000 this year.

To my knowledge I am unique in that I often, not always but just often use remote sensors to assist in my hunting. I sit a lot and tend to fall asleep. It is embarrassing when a cow will punch you in the head with its nose but it has happened. The sensors just give me an edge as many times I cannot watch every shootable hole at the same time or holes are behind mounds of dirt.

Anyway, I am looking forward to learning more about accurate shooting, reloading and ballistics via the forum.

Howdy Everyone!

Jay from Ireland here...

I've been a visitor here for a while now and thought it's time I registered.
I shoot a few different calibers but its .308 FTR that has me at the moment, also a big fan of 6mmBR.

Hi everyone. My name is Adam and I'm in Lincoln, Nebraska. I've got a Savage F T/R in 308 that I've been shooting for about 9 months now. I've also built an AR in 223 that I'm reloading for. I am looking to start shooting the local 300 yard benchrest matches this spring. I don't have a whole lot to offer for advise, but that's why I'm here. My post count is just high enough (maybe) to not be a noob to the forum, but I just saw this post. I've already read tons of good information and thanks to everyone who posts.

Hello my fellow shooters/reloading students. One of the lovely things about the sport is the infinite amount of learning that a person can enjoy. I've been loading since 1963, mostly for hunting rifles until about 15 years ago when I bought a Remington 700VLS in .243.

It shot so well that it inspired me to take up precision reloading. That rifle shot many five shot 100 yard groups right at .250" (38.5 gr. of IMR4064 behind Sierra 70 grain Match Kings). It was my favorite rifle to take out to the range, thanks to the light recoil, the pretty laminated stock, and the little groups. it received a Jewell trigger after a couple of years, and a Swarovski 6-24X50 PH scope with the 1/8 minute dot and fine crosshairs a couple of years later.

The barrel lost accuracy around 1300 rounds, and last August I asked my friend and gunsmith Stan Jackson in Anchorage to true the action, lap the lugs, and install a Bartlein barrel for me. He chambered it in 6mmBR, due to this website, and I have 1240 rounds through it now. I shot a .149" five shot group at a hundred yards with it two weeks ago, and set the club record at our local rifle range with a perfect score at our MOA match. (107 grain MatchKings in front of 28.9 grains of Varget and CCI BR4's). The Bartlein is a gain twist barrel, since it was available when I was looking. Twist progresses from 1 in 8.8" to 1 in 7.7" at 26" finished length.

This site has been so informative and helpful, both in technical matters, and in helping select what equipment to purchase, and I really appreciate it.

I look forward to communicating with and working with the great members of this forum community. Thanks go out to Rand from BIB Bullets and also to the good guys at Harrell's Precision for their patient sharing of info, and for their fine products. 105 gr. BIB boattails are my next loading project for the 6mmBR. They have shown promise already, with only 2 loads tried so far.

Enough for now--Shoot Well and Safely!
Jim

Hello all,

I'm happy to have found this place. I'm not new to reloading but new to the benchrest reloading process (neck turning, fireforming, etc...). I have been reloading for my hunting and pistol about a year and a half. I recently purchased a 6mm Dasher and will be working up loads and trying my hand at competition.

I look forward to learning from y'all.

Cheers,
Toby

Hi

My name is Campbell Grant.

Just before Christmas 2014 I bought my first .308 (Parker Hale 1200TX) and want to reload to get the best out of it. 4 years ago when I got my FAC I had dreams of buying a fancy setup, however after spending shed-loads on the house, I have had to refine my thinking. :o

The rifle shoots very well even when using RG ammo. I am in the process of learning reloading for .308. I have reloaded .44 Win Mag for many years. I have thus far learnt about rifle case preparation and have modified my RCBS 505 scales with an extended pointer and a web-cam linked to a laptop and have purchased the TargetMaster trickler.

I have 100 Lapua Scenar 155 gr bullets ready to be seated into my prepped Federal cases (I will upgrade the cases to Lapua in the future, but didn't want to practice on posh stuff)

I will be very grateful for your help.

ATB

Campbell

Have made a few posts already but a little about me.

Reloading for 37+ years,
Rifle/pistol/shotgun combined 45 different calibers over the years.
Some guns get as accurate loads as I can build with the equipment I have while others get just good functional safe loads.
Rifles on the small side 17 Remington and 22 Hornet to bigger stuff including 50BMG.

I read a lot and post sometimes, if I think it might help the thread or to ask questions sometimes for my own understanding or bounce ideas off of others.

New member here and new to reloading, came across this forum when google, a lot of good info at this forum.

My name is Mike and new member. Process of building 6.5Grendel on AR platform with 20" Shilen barrel. Looking for some starting point on reloads with 123gr Amax. Also read that pressure should be kept below 50,000# ?
Thanks

Greetings all far and wide,
My name is Roman, and I write from the great midwest, Iowa, to be a little more precise. I have enjoyed fine firearms as long as I can remember. I was bitten by the bug while watching my grandfather load round after round for br matches and p-dog shoots. They are some of my earliest and fondest memories. I have gotten a few of his rifles and have added many to the lineup. I enjoy both of his past-times and have also followed his footsteps and gotten an ffl to continue my passion and hobby. I have done a good bit of reloading and shooting in the "regular" calibers but have just recently started to feel comfortable working on the custom calibers he used and the various commercial br offerings. I also do a large volume of shooting and reloading for the venerable xp-100 platform in an array of calibers. I enjoy doing my own work on loads and also enjoy the fellowship and comroderie of the shooters in my shop. I feel this forum will be a great place to learn a few tricks and an excellent sounding board for thoughts and idea. Thanks all in advance for any help or questions that may come up in the future!
