Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

Greetings from Frankco

Hi everyone I want to introduce myself my name is Frank. I am enjoying reading all the good posts, I have a ruger target rifle comming any day now in creedmoor. I reload 30-06,223,45,357mag and have been browsing through the reload data given for the creedmoor. I am an amature gun tinkerer, I'll take apart anything and try to make it better. I am an x-ray tech who also has a bachelors degree in criminal justice, I've also majored in accounting but haven't finished that degree. I was in the Alabama Army National Guard. I guess I'm just a jack of all trades. I really enjoy reloading ammunition and shooting targets only so far. I,m all for shooting game to eat I have nothing against eating.

Hi Fellow Shooters. My name is Eugene and I'm from Ontario, Canada. I'm 59 and I've been shooting guns since I was 5 yrs old. I was president of a rifle and revolver club for 10 years. I taught handgun safety. I shot PPC. I've shot and shoot several black powder rifles, cast bullets for them too. I shoot a variety of rifles and I've owned a lot of them. I currently have over 2 gun cabinets full. I reload pistol and rifle cartridges, been doing that for hmmm 30 years anyways. I've shot competition, won a house full of trophies. I even shoot traditional, compound, and cross bows, and I make a variety of traditional longbows. I'm a better rifle shooter than I am bow and arrows. My newest rifle is a Kimber model 84 M in 22-250 Rem. I've found some one hole groups already. I have a Marlin 357 Mag lever action cowboy rifle that will also shoot 1 hole groups at 100 yds. It's an amazing and fun gun to shoot. I love the 222 Rem even more than the 22-250. I have an original Winchester model 70 in 7X57 made in 1942. What a nice and well built rifle. They should all be built to that quality. I'm always learning more about guns and reloading. I don't like the really big calibers unless it's in a muzzleloader. I had a love affair with 218 bees for a while too. Ahhh, there's nothing more beautiful than a pretty rifle.

Just saying Hi, I'm based in the UK and have used this website as a resource for some time. Have a 6mm BR (RPA Interceptor) to collect on saturday so thought I'd finally register. I also reload for my 7mm Rem Mag and .243 Win.

Cheers

Richard

Hello,
I am from Upstate New York (above Syracuse) and my whole family shoots pistol, rifle and shotgun. While we only really hunt predators/varmint we have done the big game thing in the past.

I have shot high powered match and competitive skeet, but it has been years. We reload and looking forward to checking out this site. It looks to be excellent.

Thanks

From BC, Canada. Learned so much from AS/6mm sites. New to reloading (3 years) and learning so much. Just target shooting with a move into hunting now, but am focused on precision. Reloaded Calibers - 223, 7.62x39, 308, 30-06, 300 WSM - so far, with more to come. ;D

Greetings from La Pine, Oregon

I have read posts here for some time and wanted to add my 2 cents. I have reloaded since 1969
mostly for hunting rifles and shotguns. Never for match or competition or pistols. Just wanted to say hello.
I do reload a lot in the winter months and average 3000-5000 rds.each season in 223 & 204 loads for squirrels and P-dogs.
I have trapped almost every legal animal in north America for pelts and have only used hand calls on coyotes for many years.

Hello shooters; I am a viet nam , and a desert storm vet; I love shooting;
I have shot everything from .223 up thru .50 cal, and some grenade shooters;
my m16/203 saved my life at least 14 times that I know of;

Now retired, and have gotten back into big game shooting (have done much competition shooting) while in military, and glad to be here on this site;

I have personal experience with many guns;

.223, 22-250, .243, .264, .270, .280, .7mm rem mag, .338 win mag and others
like 6.5 swede, and 243 ackley imp, and others; Thats enough to post here

Dave from western Wisconsin here. I actually stumbled into this place while trying to track down a used scope. I found both the scope and a nice web site.

I'm 52 and have been shooting and reloading rifles for a long time, but I'm far from an expert. Right now I'm loading for my three deer rifles: .348 Win., .358 Win, and a 270 WSM. I'm also an avid bird hunter (pheasants and grouse) and of course I reload a lot of shotgun ammo, too.

Hi everyone. I have been an avid reloader for the last 10 years (a hunter for 20 years) and primarily geared my skills towards varmint shooting and long range hunting with various 20 cal cartridges for varminting and 6.5mm to 35 caliber cartridges for hunting. I feel I have succeeded very well in varmint and long range hunting so in my endless pursuit of rifle accuracy perfection, I decided to take my reloading and shooting skills to the next level. Last year I began shooting 1000 yard Benchrest Competition in Montana. In the competitive ultra accuracy demanding world, I am a little short : ( I have much experienced help from veteran BR shooters that are getting me started in the right direction, but more experience and suggestions are always welcome. I look forward to contributing and learning from everyone here. Thank you : )

Hi there,

Daniel from the Great White North (Canada), land of the free home of the beer! I've been checking out this forum for a while now, I really have found TONS of great information here, more reality based and less conjecture, opinion, and "I know a guy, who has a friend who knows that... blah blah blah) kind of crap.

I'm new to the long range game, I quickly went from a .223 Savage to .260 Remington. Using my Savage action I had my gunsmith John Grech, spin on a new custom Shilen Select Match 6.5 barrel at 30" finished, bedded the action into my XLR chassis. So after a year of trying and reading, tweaking and what not I'm ready to go... so I thought.

I started to work up some loads, thought I had a promising one with 41.8 gr of Reloader 17 and Lapua 139 scenars, new Lapua .260 brass and Federal Match 210GM primers. Shot pretty little groups at 100 yards, but really opened up at 300, to over 2.5 inches. :-[
My velocities were pretty consistent ( 2904, 2909, 2902, 2897, 2895, 2902)
Back to the drawing board... but it's getting wintery up here now too. I'm hoping to find more info now that I am online and looking forward to that. I'd like to get some new loads figured out before the spring season starts up again.

Anyway, glad to be here, I hope I can also contribute some of my knowledge that might also help newbies, newer than me avoid some costly mistakes.

Safe shooting, and Merry Christmas everyone.

Daniel :)

Hello all my name is Van. I have been shooting in F-Class Open for about 2 years. I am in the Houston, TX area. I have been reloading for about 2 1/2 years...didn't take me long to want to do something more than just shoot at a target on the weekends. The people in our club have been very kind and helpfull bringing me up to speed on rules, how to read the wind, and loading tips. I got tired of loading to find the primer pockets loose after just one firing so I have made a tool to tighten those primer pockets up. Check it out at www.Primer-Pocket-Fixer.com.

Welcome Van. You are my neck of the woods. You may want to do a post in the reloading equipment section to get the word out on your pocket fixer. I am sure some on this site will have some questions for you on your product. You may also want to post the price as I didn't see it on your web site.

well i am Joe from North Carolina Looking at getting into reloading my own ammo ,
I have friend who got rid of his RL550B , He sold it to me with just few items its still in box . he got something like a 1050 or something like that, so guess I need to buy all the other stuff .
what I do have is this spear reloading manual , Lyman reloading manual , dillion 550B conversion kit , carbon dies pistol , scale beam type . ,
he said i could start with that but that there's a whole lot more stuff I could add and make it better .
