Welcome to the Reloading Forum -- Introduce Yourself

good day Jim Higgs here from Stickney,SD been a reloader for about 40 years.I shoot 2 6.5-284 rifles a Cooper model 22 and a Rem 721 I had built not very happy with this one for years, also varmint hunt and competed in rifle silhouette for many years, great forum

Hello from Denmark. Looking for tools to develop consistent loads. So here I am to watch and learn. Shooting 222rem, 6xc, 308win,3006 and the 300 win mag. Soon to be the owner of a 284win.

Hello, Kelly from Kansas. Long-time hunter, casual target-shooter, and reloaded. Just wanting to learn to do all better, and to eventually put together a custom rifle. Probably a 6.5 Swede.

Hi, Michael here. Been having some excellent fun working on the load development for my custom 6.5 mm SAUM (hunting rifle). I'm currently playing around with the new 143 ELD-X projectiles, H1000 and loading into Norma 300 SAUM brass. I use redding 'S' type neck dies with a .298 and .292 bushing (I use a Hornady 7mm SAUM FL die to size down to 7mm first from .300 SAUM) then complete the final sizing with those two bushing sizes.

I learnt the technique for sizing down in gradual stages from this website and I really appreciate that this was on here. Due to using this technique I get a consistent neck runout of .001 to .002. I use the Forster ultra micrometer 7mm SAUM seating die, with a 6.5 mm seater stem and thanks to the minimal runout I get a bullet runout that's also hovering around .001 and .002. Phenomenal for a hunting rifle.

So far during my ladder testing of loads, I am getting promising accuracy nodes of around 0.5 MOA or less.

I am near Chattanooga Tn. I'm 62 years of age and have hunted and fished most of my life. I've reloaded for 30+ years, but never really knew what it took to make truly accurate loads. Since I started researching this, my son who is 21 has also become interested and we are loading for our rifles together. He is also a competitive skeet shooter who is honing his craft with great diligence. While I am certain that I will learn much more than I contribute here, I look forward to also sharing the things that I have learned over the years to anyone who can use the information.

Hi, I'm new here. I don't even own a 6mm anything right now. I had a 6mm Remington in a 700 BDL at one time. I liked it a lot and I want to build another one, this time on a Yugo Mauser action.

I'm not an accuracy competitor. I shoot for fun, whether it's informal bench rest or hunting. I came on here trying to learn more about BCs and calculating trajectories. I have several hunting rifles, no two in the same chambering. I don't currently shoot long ranges but my intention is to learn more about long range shooting and to build a long range .270 Winchester.

Now that Berger and Matrix are making heavy for caliber bullets, I want to rebarrel my 1966 Model 70 Winchester .270 (Which I bought new in 1966 when I was 18 years old) with a 1:8 Twist barrel and see how these Hi BC Bullets shoot in it. I'm tired of hearing the .270 bashed for several reasons. I want to prove to the .270 haters there's nothing magical or Un-magical about a bore diameter. It's all in how you build a particular rifle and what you feed it. The caliber is just a number.

Hello everyone. I've been reloading for a couple of years now. Still very new to it. I cast my own bullets for .45 ACP and 9MM. I also reload for .223, .22-250, and .308. I just started reloading for 9mm so I may have a few questions later on. This looks like a great site with lots of information. Thanks!

Hey guys. I'm completely new to everything in higher caliber than a .22lr. I've been shooting guns all my life, but just started into big game RIFLE hunts last year. I've done trational recurve hunts, but now want to do some long range shooting. I bought a 7mm-08 remington 700 mountain rifle last year and rsbc chucker reload kit. I've been reading everything on 7mm and reloading. I'm hoping to pick your guy's brains and hopefully not make too many newbie errors.

Hello, I am also new to the site but have looked in many times over the years and enjoyed it very much. I have been reloading for 50 years or so and have done so for over 35 calibers. Am looking forward to participating.

Hello everyone

I'm a 79 year old from Idaho trying to play a young mans game

I got a BSA Monarch 7mm rem mag given to me so I bought a Vortex VPR-M-06BDC 6.5x20x50 and put on it
I hand loaded with Nosler Accubond 168 gr. used 62 gr. IMR4350 Powder and CCI 250 mag primers
Did a full resize and case length trim to 2.500
set the bullet depth to (3.290 max) since my COAL is 3.60 with bullet touching lands

I have a Caldwell Lead Sled and this load shot terrible (4" @100)
I had some Hornady factory CustomLite 139 gr. that did near 1" at 100

I can lengthen my bullet out to 3.400 and will work in magazine and eject. Is this a safe thing to do or the right way to go?
I'm after the heaver grain for Elk here but also would like to touch one out to at least 500

Thanks for the privilege

Hello been reading this forum for awhile now and decided to join in. Been reloading and shooting rifles for 30 yrs and still enjoy getting tips from other folks and also helping others if I can. There are only 2 places I would rather be than at the reloading bench and they are a shooting bench or deer stand. Great forum yall have here.
