Webcam for 10-10

I'm thinking about getting a webcam for viewing the pointer on my RCBS 10-10. Has anyone identified a webcam/stand/mount that lines up particularly well with an RCBS 10-10?

Something with a clear view, good, solid stand, very stable, correct height.

Not an "I/pad/watch/phone/pod/book/" anything in the house.

Also, doesn't look to meet the correct level, solid stand and very stable criterion either.

I must say the pic is good though. :)

oh well. that is a trident case. I can zoom in on any level i want and dont need a computer or a webcam. You can do the same with a phone. Take the info as you will i guess!

I can’t find a picture but I used my iPhone and cut an old serria bullet box to hold it and used mag lite pro app.

My solution ....

A used $20 cell and an $8 tripod adapter mounted on the side of shelf unit on top of the bench with a 1/4-20 bolt. Its cheap and doesn't take space on the bench.
A video with the cell in action .....
Scale cam

That’s funny! My webcam is mounted to a Sierra bullet box. It was the perfect height.

OR swing by wally world and pick up a logitech USB camera for about 25.00 or so.

I tried that, the logitechs etc do not have a manual focus, the camera has to be about 5 or 6 inches away from the scale if you go that route.

I also used my cell phone for a while. It worked but was clunky at best, most of the magnifying glass aps have ads and the camera function was what I ended up using. A manual focus web cam off Ebay or Amazon and a few minutes in the shop making a small stand for the scale and web cam is the way to go

this took about ten minutes to make and I used zip ties to secure the camera

I bought a cheapy at WalMart, didn't like the resolution, returned and and got the $40 one and drilled a hole in my stand, put in a 1/4 inch screw and mounted it on that and have an old laptop (small one) above the scale. Works well. I wouldn't have room for the tablet and don't know how I'd align my phone. So different solutions for the problem.

Excellent! A very nice solution.

Thanks for the info on focus distance. I had not thought of that.

I am left handed so I will likely do something like BoydAllen where he turns the scale so that the pan is closest to you so the direct view solutions won't work.
