Weaver V-Series rifle scopes.

I have been looking at the Weaver V-16, 4-16x42, it will be used on two rifles. The first rifle is a Ruger M77 MK II standard in 204 Ruger. The second a Ruger Hawkeye Predator in 223. I have owned leupolds, Nikons, Burris and Bushnell. Looking through these scopes I am amazed at the clarity and brightness. The quality seems very good for the price. I am wondering if anyone here has had experience with them over the long haul.

I have had a 4-16 weaver with the target dot reticle on my Ruger .223 for 15 years now. It has fared very well killing piles of dogs and I believe it is a great scope for the money and power range. I think I bought mine new for around $225.

Go buy it and enjoy. I have and have used the V-Series on rifles in these calibers for quite some time and have NO negative issues with them. My Nightforce's are better but at what cost and I don't need need that brand on all my rifles. The V-Series needs not appologize to anyone . I might think things through if I was going to put it on a 458 Win. but then you're not. P.S. Excellent tracking.

Dittos on the positive comments on a V16. Have had one since '92 (IIRC), and it's been a good, solid, reliable scope the whole time. I'm going to reward it for its years of service by installing it on a Win M52 sporter as soon as I get it back from the stockmaker who has it up on his website - www.doantrevor.com

What you are looking at to get is an excellent scope for the money. I have never had any problems with that same model. They are hands down 1 of my favorite models that Weaver offers.
