WEAVER T36 XR

any poor people like me tried the new Weaver XR line of scopes?? I just bought a 36XR and it seems ok to me. I like it

There is nothing wrong with these scopes, they perform very well and are used by a lot of benchrest shooters shooting short range group and Varmit for score matches. They are very clear and and edge to edge aspherical dispersion is very slight.

I didn't weight it, but it doesn't even feel like you have it in your hand, if that helps any

Keen to hear more on this scope, that scope would get my young bloke into FTR quicker than saving for a night force to get him started, I rarely use more than 36x for local matches when the mirage is running which is most weeks at my range.
Monte 482 grams listed according to Weaver but the website is pretty vague on specs.

Not really. I have a .30 BR Varmint-For-Score gun that needs a dedicated scope, something a little more than the T24 I have kicking around as a backup scope. It's way close on weight, and the numbers on Weaver's site don't indicate whether that's with sunshade or not.

I have an old T36 and wouldn't trade it for anything. I also have a new XR T46 and it is back for the second time first was when it was two weeks old ( clicks were unpredictable), and this time 1 year later it will not hold POA, shots every where on a score target.
Too Weavers credit they offered to repair, replace or refund I chose a replacement this time, hopefully all will be good.

Surprised to hear about the mushy turrets. Lord knows that Weaver knows how to build scopes with snickity-snick.

I'd be interested to know how well the side focus works. My Leupold 6.5-20 has more lash than I find acceptable.

In case any one is interested Natchez Shooters supply has the XR-46 on sale for $499.00 that is a fantastic price, and its not a re-furbish! Fine cross hairs no dot. My neighbor ordered one Friday and ordered one Saturday, never seen this scope for that low price!

would be good if weaver put out an official statement that problems have been solved with the xr46 or is that price on sale old stock same problems

I have two of the 46x Weavers, and so far no problems. Windage and elevation repeat and POI has not been a problem. I see little difference of any degree between my Leupold Competition scopes and these Weavers except the price.

The XR-46 was off the market for about 14 months and weaver bought them all back from retailers, fixed the problem and re-released them. There are no reports of the same problem, which was that oil spots were on the interior lens. Weaver stepped up to the plate and paid each and every person that bought one, and provided a paid shipping label, does that sound like a company that would, leave bad scopes on the market! When I notified them of oil spots on mine they bought it back and I had a check for what I paid +shipping in my hand in 10 days after they received it!
