Weaver Mounts?

I was wondering if anyone has used the Weaver Brand mounts. Not the style but the actual brand. I know they are cheap, but was wondering if they are any good. Let me know what you guys think.

josh11: If you mean the bases, yes, I use them all the time, both the aluminum and steel. If you mean the rings, no, as I only use the Burris Signature Zee rings with the off-set inserts if required,, to keep the scope adjustments close to center).

Sorry for not clarifying, yes bases is what i was talking about. So do you think they are just as good as Leupold mounts?

I've been using Weaver #62 bases on 12 gauge slug shooting shotguns for years and years with never a problem..

Josh11, I have mounted Weaver bases on several budget minded friends hunting rifles, but as Frank pointed out I draw the line refusing to use their rings. In fact they use to be the only one piece weaver style base available for the XP100 that I was aware of, and I still have one of them on one of my XP pistols. The EGW Picatinny one piece bases are very well made and can be had with 20moa built in at the same price of their O moa base at 39.99. They can be purchased direct or I see that Midway is now carrying them. They're the best budget minded buy out there IMHO and I own several.

Regards
RJ

Weaver bases have kind of been a standard other manufacturers have copied or modified but the rings gouge and cut aluminum scopes and
distroy the resale value of used scopes with the crushing and gouging.......Signature Burris rings with the inserts does no damage and saves the expense of magic rails as elevation can be
added with plus and minus inserts.......
