Warne Tactical Mounts

I'm looking for some quality 1" rings to mount a Weaver T36x40 and would like to know from anyone with first hand experience their thoughts.

Are the vertically split Warne tactical mounts better then the horizontally split Weaver tactical (picatinny version) or the Burris tactical?

Which set of rings out of the three in question is the best made in regard to dimensional alignment and tolerance?

Ian

I have been using the warne pa rings for years. they have proven to be true and very sturdy rings and they have never scratched any of my scopes.... just my two cents..

While I've never own the tactical versions, I use mostly Warne rings on my varmint and big game rifles. My experience is the same as ttfreestyle. They have never scratched any of my scopes either.

I use Warne Tactical rings on all of my rifles. Ar-15, 243, 308, 22lr. Rock solid, no scratching on my scopes, precise manufacturing. That, and I try and buy as local as I can, and Portland, OR is as close as it gets to me.

I just mounted a Trijicon scope on my SIG556 with the Warne tactical 30mm rings. I am very impressed the the quality and finish on these rings. Lots of screws and not as easy to mount as a horizontal split ring, bit I got it done.I had some of the old original Warne quick release rings I bought from Greg Warne back in the 90's when he started the company and the new ones have a nicer finish Plus the Wane tactical rings were about $50.00 cheaper than the Leupold Tacticals.

Warne has been my "go-to" rings for several years. From the .22 adjustable rings to the Tactical Series.
Warne has been quite generous at donating prizes at Tactical Matches too. Perhaps some folks have forgotten to call???
There is ONE problem with Warne.....THEY DON'T MAKE A LEFT HANDED RAIL! ;D

I'll mention here also-Seekins makes a damn fine set of rings or bases, AND he makes a Left-Handed Rail! Thanks Glenn! ;)

The verticle split can be a pita but they are great!! They are all that I use. If you plan on moving the scope from gun to gun spend the extra $$ and get the QD version. Dont be afraid to give them a try.
