crooked scope mounting

I've got a rifle that the scope base screws were not drilled in line with each other, the scope does not line up with the barrel. It has Unertl mounts on it, I'm wondering if anyone has seen windage adjustable 1" scope rings for the Unertl type mounts. Leupold makes them for the Weaver style bases, I have some blank weaver rail like Brownells sells that I could make individual mounts from and that may be the way I have to go. I'd really like to stay with Unertl if possible.

Depending on how bad they're off, you can use something like the Burris Signature rings, and get the offset inserts. They make 20 MOA offset inserts, and you can probably install them to offset at 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock to get things lined back up.
You could also just have the receiver drilled for a different base, avoiding the areas where the misaligned holes are.

If I put a straight edge across the 4 holes you can hardly tell but it's just enough to cause the problem. I will look into the Burris rings. Thanks.

Rem 700 BDL. I had name brand scope rings for a non Unertl scope. I ran out of windage adjustment trying to zero on a target. I turned the rear ring 180 degrees and it was OK. I don't remember if I turned the base and ring.
