Another stupid gun law that won't work. (period) People who aren't suppose to possess any type firearm, will obtain them regardless of the law. Only ones affected, is the law abiding firearm owner. One more reason to NOT vote Democrat!!

Notice the ex parte, the supposedly dangerous individual would NOT be part of the court actions. Would have no knowledge of the action or the accuser, just the legal costs to recover the firearms(lawyers/court fees probably storage and any resulting possible physical damage to the firearms). Seems to violate several U.S. constitutional rights and of course Alabama citizens have no real way to remove this elected official until long after the legislative abuse has occurred.

Yep, another useless "red flag" law that is likely to get abused. Though I imagine (hope) this goes along with protective orders (restraining order) and the complainant must have the burden of proof.

Montana isn’t quite that bad, but just to share how F’D up it can get’ I got into an argue with my SIL’s Father after 2 1/2 years of putting up with his filthy harassment , who btw is a total piece of crap with no moral compass at all. Anyway he called the cops and spilled a lie about me carrying a gun, filled out a restraining order against me. I lost my gun rights and had to hire an attorney.

It was touch and go for a while.

I feel for ya, I had to deal with my former FIL's despicable girl friend filing false reports against me and my now ex. My ex got the worst of it, but when CPS showed up at my house I was livid. Thankfully I kept my cool and had case report numbers for everytime she (FIL's GF) was arrested for falsified reports. She is just a bad human being.

These people exist and abuse the system. Red flag laws give them more power, even if falsely attained.

We’ve had the red flag stuff up here for a little while. Whenever a new situation arises that the existing law didn’t stop, they just modify it and add to the list of people that can turn you in on allegations. It went from just a couple of people like law enforcement and medical professionals to everyone from ex wives, co workers, bosses, etc. Just a way to remove guns from people without due process. Granted, there are people who get themselves into situations where the guns should be removed. But there are also accusers who abuse the law out of spite. And there are NO repercussions for an accuser whose allegations are proven unfounded when submitted through the red flag process. But the accused is out $10,000 in legal fees and the removal of constitutional freedoms proving their innocence.

I will be so damn glad when MeMaw is G.O.N.E. She IS pro 2nd but I think she's got a dose of FJB disease lately and has disappeared. And I DO NOT want Ainsworth. He lives not too far from me and I know his ways and methods. I'm really hoping a real good conservative will get in but it's probably gonna be Ainsworth

Ivey may be Pro 2nd but she likes money and I don't trust her. She, along with our congress implemented a gas tax to "rebuild Alabama", supposedly it will only be used to "rebuild Alabama", and will be temporary, yeah right. Ainsworth is no better, don't trust him either.

I like the bill that is being introduced by one of the Alabama State Legislators.
“The 2nd Amendment Tax Holidays.”
If this passes, firearms, ammunition and hunting equipment would be exempt from state sale tax from Memorial Day through July 4th.

Birmingham is like a war zone. Its a shame that they will not put their efforts into hiring legitimate law enforcement and sending the thugs to prison. The mayor and politicians seem more concerned with getting photo shoots than taking steps to fix things.
