Thank you. But I never let the old man in. Yes as you age you can have some colorful bruises. What you see here is the result of a full reversal shoulder replacement 100% service connected to an injury sustained in VietNam on October 1967. Just took its time to become a major problem. Initiated by exposure to agent orange.
I shouldn’t have posted this as I have no desire to discuss it, but today is not a good day for me and I have to learn not to post when I don’t feel well, no posting after 8pm, and no posting until I’ve taken my meds. At 80 years old I still haven’t learned.
Once I can shoot (BR) my 30 BR’s I’ll feel better.

Rolex guy here....Have 4 that I wear off and on....

I don't understand the appeal of Rolex. I've owned two in my lifetime and neither kept time worth a hoot. I had to reset the time on both a couple of times every month. The first I bought from a friend, and it was stolen by one of my son's friends. The second was a gift from that same son I guess from a feeling of guilt over the loss of the first one.
The other aggravating was the outrageous cost of servicing them every couple of years. I'd almost rather have a sexy faced Citizen Eco-drive~!!!

First having a Rolex is really prestige as well as pride of ownership.
If you’re looking for better time keeping a mechanical watch is never the answer.
eg: A Casio atomic watch ( as well as others) seeks the exact time every 24 hours from Ft.Collins Colorado. So every 24 hours it is corrected if needed to the exact second. Along with date and daylight savings time. That is real accuracy in my book. Aside from being atomic in time keeping they are solar powered. No setting. No batteries. No look of a Rolex. You get to choose.

Jewelry for men. It takes many forms. Watches is only a single one.
Go to an F-Class match and examine the sea of custom machined n polished front rests. Be in awe of the stock designs and gleaming embellishments that catch the eye.
Fishermen have the Bass boats with a sea of electronic gadgetry. The fly fisherman with a hand crafted bamboo rod n bench made reel.
We all have our various pieces that we display proudly. Enjoy them all.

I must be lucky or just take really good care of mine. Mine keep near perfect time over a 3 month period.
Biggest mistake that people make with a Rolex is how they "wind" it after it hasn't been worn for a while. I have seen the "watch Winders" that move the watch back and forth. Some people do this motion by hand. Not really good for them with a completely "unwound" spring.
In addition, my watches have increased significantly in value. Plus I just like them....

Based on exactly what I said. Rolex have mastered marketing duping the public to believe that they should pay more for a name. Their AD's are key to this charades success.

Sorry, unless u purchased ur Rolex in the PX during Vietnam, average income folks don’t have one/ daily wear one. Exception would be if u inherited it from a family member.
On a lark, went by the local Rolex dealer and the prices start around $15 k and go up from there. Way out of my pay grade. Well, maybe if I sold my car!

Some models can be had for less but Rolex has been known to dictate what you're "lucky enough" to buy from them.

Sister was a collector of everything!! She died and I had to get rid of all her stuff. Found a bunch of old watches. Anything that needed a battery, off to the shop for new.
Lots of old original Mickey Mouse watches. Some as old or older than me. Listed everything on E Bay. Sold them all.
