Watch collectors?

I saw at a red light on the way to town yesterday a guy in a Kia with a dazzling gold wristwatch that the face had to be twice as big as the old Seiko I used to wear. It looked like it was designed to scream "LOOK AT ME I MA BETTER THAN YOU" To me it was like this. https://www.soniceditions.com/image/public-enemy-mtv
There's a brand that used to be Swiss, their name escapes me right now which is weird because I have one and I could go get it out and look but that would require effort ;)

Mine is an older one, Swiss made but the company went under and the name was acquired by a marketing group in Florida IIRC and some of the watches they sell are just godawful ugly. Garish, hideous. I bet it was one of those.

edit; Invicta. I have the Pro Diver;

I once thought I needed a nice watch (not pricey just nice) and I bought a Seiko diver type watch, all stainless. I was working on some projects that had a rough tear out and rebuild. In 2 years the Seiko was so torn up so bad the jeweler laughed at me when I wanted the band replaced. Wife bought me a Citizen kinda like it and she told me its 10 years old now and it looks like new. Never been anywhere but church and then only a few times. I can take care of a gun and keep it nice, but a watch doesn't stand a chance.

Early 2000's I bought my self a custom watch with a titanium case and bracelet. The movement was a quartz chronograph. It was extremely light in weight. Very good looking. I only had it for a couple of months. One day at work I had to reach down into some tight place and I took it off so as not to scratch it. Not really thinking about it I set it down someplace. Later when I remembered and looked for it, I never found it. I'm sure somebody walked off with it.

Just curious who here has an admiration for watches?
I myself have several Casio G-shocks that I wear on a daily basis and am always looking for good deals and sales on them.
Speaking of I’ve always admired and wanted to own a Richard Mille watch and today I finally got my break and found one at a significant discount. So I splurged and bought myself the 60-01
If you’ve never heard of Richard Mille watches here’s a link to some of his work and master pieces.

Here’s the watch I found and purchased.

This is a shooting website!

Hollow Grind the friend that I hunted out west with had me try on his Rolex once. It looked like yours as best as I can remember, it weighed what seemed like 3 times as much as my Seiko. Do they all weigh that much? I guess that you would get used to it after a while.
