Wasp wasted bullet?

Longer bullet, same weight, less bearing surface --- why won't it work?

It is a manufacturing defect. Years ago they ran a batch of bullets with the wrong size core and tried to cover their stupidity by saying the defect made the bullet go faster, in violation of the law of conservation of energy. They put them on the market and people actually bought them to discover that they were garbage. Sorry you had to re-experience this...

And before that? I have pulled thousands of 8MM57 bullets, everyone of the bullets had a waist, before pulling the bullets I checked them for speed. From a 29" barrel the bullets were traveling 2,900 + a few feet per second and were accurate. Most of the case heads had late '30 and early '40 head stamps. Who knows? They could have caused the waist with very heavy crimp.
