It is a manufacturing defect. Years ago they ran a batch of bullets with the wrong size core and tried to cover their stupidity by saying the defect made the bullet go faster, in violation of the law of conservation of energy. They put them on the market and people actually bought them to discover that they were garbage. Sorry you had to re-experience this...Longer bullet, same weight, less bearing surface --- why won't it work?

Unlike bullets, jets are under constant thrust. Herters claimed their bullets would pick up velocity and we all know how that works . . .I've been around enough to remember the wasp waisted fighter jets. Read the following.
