That’s how I act when all the young chics chase after me!
I tried that and it didn't work. I stepped out into the attached unheated garage and shut the door. It was winter and I didn't want to loose heat. Well, the door locked, I only had socks on my feet, no keys with me, there was about 8" of snow on the ground and the other doors were also locked, plus the wife wasn't due home for several hours. What to do? Freeze to death? Well, it took 3 hard hits to break the door frame and get back into the house. Then the wife called me an idiot when she got home! Go figure?
First it's a duck, now it's a chick. I guess birds are targeting dogs these days for alleged atrocities in the past?

It is a good thing you broke into your house. That could have easily turned into a swat situation had your wife came home to a naked man running around in the garage.
