Just a FYI, I was at the local MD Wally World and they had a Remington 700 sporter, matte black finish, .243 win with scope. for $377.

The local Dick's is peddling the same rifle for $545.

Yep normal ones. It's their new rolled back price. I've been looking for the clearanced ones that were $297. Only ones I found were $377. It's actually a bit surprising the difference in walmarts from one to the next

Over the past three or four years I have built a number of hunting rifles out of the Wal-Mart 700's. They are a great buy. Sell the scope, base/rings, stock, barrel, and trigger and you have an action for $250. Solid base for a good rifle.

Wally has also closed out the BDL models. Normal pricing was $775 ish, now, as they clear, they are $600 ish.

I only see 1 or 2 around the state (SC), but that's a pretty good deal to be aware of.

Sportsman's Warehouse was selling the model 700 SPS for $379 after rebate, plus throwing in a Remington pellet gun with scope!!! Suggested retail of $139 on the pellet gun, and it shoots good too.
