I had to sign a waiver...

In later years, Robert Blake played Little Beaver. When he grew up he played in Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood" and played Baretta on tv, and reportedly killed his wife accidently.

You betch'm Red Ryder!

every year I watch "The Christmas Story" and Ralphie's ultimate present request; a Daisy Red Ryder Carbine.
The December Blue Press came last week, and carried a two page story about Daisy's newest offering. They are producing an 80th Anniversary model, with special cardboard boxing.

We got good, bad, and great news. The good news, they list for $39.95. The bad news, they are a WalMart exclusive. The great news; they are on sale for $24.47 while supplies last. I told my wife that was what I wanted for Christmas, and she started laughing. First response: you're a little old for a BB gun, aren't you? Second response: you'll shoot your eye out.
She caved in, and called the local Wally World. They had three. So, she sent me to the store to get one.

The sales clerk (young guy) has seen the movie a couple times, and has the classic response. "Before I can sell you this you have to sign a waiver promising you won't shoot your eye out...". Amazing, a Wally World employee with a sense of humor.

It is under the tree as I type, red candy striped paper and a red bow. Mine, mine, mine...
Thanks Idaho you got me thinking- my dad never let me have a BB gun so I figured i should fix that even at this old age. So I went to the local Wally even though i hate to and checked into the Red Riders. They had More than 10 on the shelf so i bought one. Shot it in the shed tonite. It is purdy accurate at 10 yards. With my failing eyes i need to figure out how to put a scope on it.

Can't get into the Red Rider craze although I love the movie- I am of the Buffalo Bill generation- now this is a nice piece of hardware!

Oh, this could open up a whole new can of worms in my house. Collecting BB guns! My wife will love it!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

No doubt she will love you for the fact that your new hobby is so much cheaper than the current Center Fire one. Just think of all the money you will save!

I've have a cpl.
Red rider, daisy 880, crossman 760 1377 a cpl co2 and Springer scope killer.
My last air rifle, FX crown, cost me way more than my last bat br rig after tanks.
Wife thinks it's just another pellet gun. I'm not tellin her any different.

I been thinking about getting her a leg lamp for Christmas.

As you will see, I've had a passion for airguns ever since I knocked that first tin can off a saw horse at my Dad's friends house!!!!!!

Got a Remington replica pump action BB repeater at age 7 for my BD. Wore it out.
Then Crossman and Daisy multi pumps, wore those out.
Age 10 onto spring piston rifles, served me well for the rest of my youth - early 70's. Wore two of them out.
20 cal Benjamin multi pump, and some other springers during my 20's.

Ran across Airguns of Arizona in the Phoenix yellow pages in my early 30's, visited, and walked out with a $400+ Daystate Sportsman multi pump, I couldn't resist! Look it up on google images, it has polished blueing, a nice walnut stock, the rest is brass and steel, very high quality Brit manufacturing. Much more powerful than any airgun I had previously and more accurate. At my first Field Target match the MD bet me $5 that I couldn't get above 20 hits in a 40 shot match, I got a 36, lol! I was hooked and am still shooting the sport.

A few steps up in the evolution of airgun ownership are pcp (pre charged pneumatic) airguns. I can't remember all I've owned. These PCP's, for sure the higher quality ones, are such a pleasure to shoot! Believe me, a 22rf does have recoil if compared to most PCP's, and PCP's can be so silent = back yard friendly! 50 yard 5 shot groups that are touching are a common occurrence with the good ones.

If you haven't shot a PCP you should try one ASAP!
