I have some VV-N135 inbound and plan to shoot Short Range BR with Berger 88 gr Flat Base and 600 yard F-Class and IBS 600 yd. BR with 103-105 gr BT Match bullets. Anyone have a load that works in their rifles. Mine are 26-28", 1:8 twist no neck turn chambered in 6BR-Norma. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

The 88 gr. Bergers worked well with VV-N135 in my 6BR but the heavier bullets may not work well with the faster powder.

I have developed good loads with 28.8 grs. of VV-N140 and the 103 Bison Ballistics and 105 Berger 105 Hybrids. JEFFPPC do you have a starting load for the Berger 88's and VV-N135? I usually jump from 0.005 to 0.015". I do not jam my rounds. I have a friend who uses 135 in a Dasher and wonder if it would also work in the 6BR. Thanks guys.

Sorry I do not. That was about 25 years ago. If starting cold I usually go to about .5 grain less than max loads in a manual and work up from there. I do this initial powder assessment at touch with the bullet. When I find the best powder charge I now go to the following with that charge. Start about .015 in and then shoot groups(2 shots) backing up .002 at a time. When 2 go in the same hole try that again. If it repeats go from a 2 shot group to 4 shot. If it is still small your done.....If it repeats. Usually between .007 in and .003 off I find a sweet spot. At this point I go ,1 either way with powder. If it gets better I go an additional .1. I always look for repeatability before lock in in. To keep it in tune down the road I use the tuner. I do not adjust the tuner to find my initial load. Whatever method you use you need to have a process in mind, not just jumping around with no rhyme or reason. In my opinion once you have a repeatable load a bad day is usually me missing conditions than the load tanked. Trust your gun, figure out what you did wrong. Everyone wants to blame the gun or the scope. My opinion.

I have found N-135 to be a touch slower than H-4895 in my dashers shooting 103-105gr. bullets.
