vudoo v22s Single shot stock recomendations

Wonder whos making his stocks now?
Depending on what you need either McMillian or Kelbleys. He does a regular and a lite TMBR.
Last one he did for me needed to be lite…..I believe that one was a McMillian that came in about 22 oz.
I did not even know he did lite ones until then.
the last several years after Bill Pippin died, that was all Gordon Eck would use.
My first one of his was when he was Fred Sinclair‘s in house guy….. I must be old.

Kelblys quit making stocks and mcmillan is trying to stop making all the stocks others designed.

Id sure like to know what hes going to do. Hes a great guy. I have a tmbr from kelblys myself. Great stock.

FWIW talked to Tom regarding project, still good with Mcmillan’s but no more lightweight TMBR’s, they were Kelblys….that’s what I got last time…..really good stock.
I thought I did read Roy H was starting up again…..that would be nice.

Check with alex and get a price and leadtime on roys stocks before you fret on a decision too long. We are going to miss the kelbly stocks. They kept everybody honest.

I’m good with the available TMBR.
The main reason I needed the liteweight was that I bought a virtually new built gun, but was built as an UNL gun so the metal was baked into the cake until TM mentioned the Kelbley version which got me to 10.5 So I sold the beautifull Lidgard Zebrawood stock it was built on…..mission accomplished. Normally we have lots of room on a clean build.

Can he get the mcmillan with edge fill? That saves a lot of weight

Don’t know, however I have one, first one he did for me, with a 26” bbl and a 45X LCS and it comes in well under 10.5lb.Gordon Eck used those exclusively for a few years, no weight issues.

I have one from kelblys on a 10.5lb centerfire LV. Very good shape

I like the fiberglass type stock McMillan makes. I barrel a lot of rimfire actions and they almost always shoot in a McMillan. Aluminum chassis are crazy popular but unless bedded you can have issues. Not always but I’ve experienced it more than a couple times. Wood is also a solid choice. My pick however is definitely McMillan.
