vudoo v22s Single shot stock recomendations

I finally settled on the heavy Edge. But I dearly wanted the McMillian Straight Line Edge (but in flat top!!).

Why does a non-recoiling .22 rimfire barreled action require the sophistication of a centerfire BR/FO rifle stock? Couldn't the rimfire action just as well be bedded to a good solid 2x4? Just asking.

Dan
I think that's been done and, as I seem to recall, it shot pretty well. Mostly, though, think of the pride of ownership for such an elegant setup! ;)

What is a good stock recommendation for vudoo single shot action with a Shilen ratchet 1.2" dia straight bbl. I will be shooting 50 yard benchrest and NRA rimfire f class?

thanks
Won't the single shot Vudoo action fit into any Rem. 40x stock? If so, the field's wide open. I have an older custom 40x (straight bolt - 721 action, I think) BR rifle in a McMillan Edge and it's the bee's knees!

My good friend sent me this one to play with 'till my Edge comes in. It's weightless.

Not too far apart. I worked with Dusty's dad for decades before my retirement, and consider him a lifelong friend. I first met Dusty when he was a boy of about 8. My "Central AR" is in Bryant. So...good guess on your part!

Actually, I figured you to be north of the 40!. I'm originally from Benton County, graduated Rogers high school 1957. Attended Ark Tech after HS for a couple of years before transferring to Oklahoma State. It's always good to come back to AR, generally driving through. I perk up in West Memphis and get a little sad leaving the Fort Smith area. On the way back from the F-Class Nationals next month, I'll be spending some time up in Benton County.

I am not the seller

Facing a long wait for my McMillian, I decided to repurpose a position stock that I whittled out of solid black walnut for myself back in 1990 to house a Win .308 Match Rifle action that got very short usage and has been lying around for a while to take on my VuDoo single shot in the interim.

If one wanted to drop a v22s into a standard rem 700 stock like a Boyd's for example, what bottom metal would work?

Also for a v22s you could would use an ADL trigger guard or a factory BDL bottom metal in a BDL stock, but just the floorplate/trigger guard for cosmetics.

37 posts and nobody mentions Tom Meredith. Nobody does better work and his TMBR stocks track as good as anything ever made. I have had RFBR stocks by most of the good ones but now, nothing but TMBR’s.
As good as wood can be most of it moves over time and what does not is usually too heavy if you’re building a 10.5 lb. Gun.
Some of the best wood stocks have been Tony Larson’s which I believe were modeled after Terry Leonard stocks .
