Vortex's new cartridge

I had to stop at the priming stage.
The amount of force being applied to get primer to seat over multiple attempts was enough for me.
Watch the deflection in the press arm.
You would think they would stop and set a few pockets.

55g of powder, nothing exciting about that.
The"professional" video is enough for me to drop this like a hot potato.
What the hell were they thinking, trying to release a new cartridge
and the amateurish video. Is that how they come up with new products?
That was horrible.

Is there a product in existence that you have a favorable opinion of??? Last several of your posts Ive happened across are all poopy pants this or that.
Plenty of products I’m a fan of. I’m not a fan of products that don’t perform as they’re supposed to or unreliable. It’s a good thing Vortex warranty service is so good because it’s needed all the time. I’m not a fan of made in China period. I do my best not to support totalitarian socialist regimes.

So basically they are going about the hard way of loading up some rounds to go hunt antelope with a 6.5-284. Apparently anyone that wears a Vortex shirt can be some sort of expert. These guys have no business around reloading equipment let alone designing wildcat cartridges. That was awful and all I could think about was this scene from Billy Madison.

Just for the sake of mental masturbation If you scale the case and compare it to the .264" bullet I come up with a case length of 2.250" to 2.320". I'm sure that's wrong.
That's what I'm thinking ...Maybe a shorter version of Weatherby's new 6.5 rebated That's 2.5" long.

I was so uninspired by there video that I contacted Vortex and made a couple of withering comments. Here is their response:

Thanks for your feedback on the video! It sounds like you watched on YouTube but haven’t follow along with the podcast, which is the main part of the whole series. Please note – this is NOT to be a commercially available cartridge by Vortex or really by anyone for that matter. It sounds like our messaging may have lead you to believe otherwise and you were looking for something different than what you ended up getting when you watched the videos. Sorry to hear that. The three in the video, myself being one of them, will continue to exercise our second amendment rights and own/use firearms, but perhaps we can look into the name change thing. Might be kind of fun!

Thanks again and hope you have a great week.

Anyway, I felt the need to offer their opinion as an attempt at fairness...

Just a storm in a teacup really.

It was a bad idea no matter how you spin it.
Don't come out with a video teaser and introduce NOTHING.
Do they have this much time on their hands, to come up with this crap.
Didn't do anything positive for the Vortex brand name.

I agree that its a strange move to hype it up and have only one small line saying "not available anywhere" but from a marketing perspective it is generating traffic. The true test will be the conversion rate this gets them for anything branded Vortex, (turning lookers into buyers) especially if they are treating this as a loss leader, but not having listened to the podcast, I'm not sure this is anything different that watching those car building shows on cable TV.

So what does the BC stand for. (You know what it stands for.)

No, I don't. Maybe this really is a joke, like the video.
