The 6.5 PRC was Hormadys answer to the ever so awesome 6.5-284. Seemed like It took forever for rifles to be offered in the 6.5-284. The 6.5 PRC hasn't been out all that long and it's a common cartridge offering in many rifles. Hornady...Go figure.

I do not shoot PRS... I only thought it may be geared that way because of the shoulder angle that would make quick feeding from a mag easier. I can not tell the actual size of the case without something in a pic to compare it with.. Oh well..

Yep its all about the new wizz bang cartridge I guess. R-26 in the 6.5-284 pushing 140's well over 3000fps with ease would be too simple.

I'm guessing, if it is in the proportions that I'm seeing, it'll take some 80gns of retumbo and blow the doors off the old Swede for about 600 rounds before it needs a new barrel again. I'm thinking this is closer to the 26 Nosler and the 6.5 Weatherby RPM than it is to the 6.5 PRC or 6.5x284.

Looks like an interesting cartridge. I want to read about it first. Many come and go like the wssm cases. In theory it should of been great but Winchester dropped the ball on lousy brass and throat erosion.

My 260AI is now "looking over its' shoulder." Just killed a fine 9 pt with it at 230 yds and within days it's "old fashioned and obsolete"???

That picture with the primer out could be the primer going in. Might mean you get the case pre-primed, which today may be the only way you can get a primer to shoot it.

I just want to know about the Warranty. That seems to be about the only selling point for a Vortex Optic. I wonder if they will give you new brass or barrels for free when you loose some or shoot the barrel out.

I just chambered up a #5 26" Shilen match on my old Winchester 70 action to replace the 6.5-06 Ackley barrel that was shot out. 140's at 3100fps is impressive but what I have come to realize is that it doesn't kill anything any better than 140s at 2950fps. 6.5-284 / .260 Ackley is just about the sweet spot in the 6.5 in my opinion.

Just for the sake of mental masturbation If you scale the case and compare it to the .264" bullet I come up with a case length of 2.250" to 2.320". I'm sure that's wrong.
