Vortex Scopes...

I've posted this before( No love for Leupolds) But if you agree, take all of one minute and leave A message to the Vortex Reps.
I did it again yesterday, i bug the Hell out of them! Come on guys ,all of 15 scopes and not one scope with a simple FINE X-Hair with SMALL Dot...I mean small dot. There are ALOT of Target Benchrest shooters out there and your losing a niche that you could fill. Your Golden Eagle that I have with fine cross hair would be a dandy with a dot! and nothing more......

I won't be any help; I have one Vortex scope. It's a Diamondback something to 10 x 50mm with the BDC reticle. So far so good, the hash marks are spot on out to 500 for my 257 Roberts. It does a great job gathering light and clear as a bell until it's dark enough that I should have left already.

I’d have to say pretty much all manufacturers are going The same way with reticle choices. There all to busy for me.

Thats why i have 4 sightron s-tac now. I like the fine dot in the middle. Not a busy retical also. With me i dont want a tactical thick retical, just harder to see the paper clear. I do like having some hash marks just not to where they get in the way.

What advantage is there to having a small dot in addition to the small cross hair?

If you shoot BR ,you'll find out. A fine cross hair or cross hair small dot is the preferred reticle. You dont need slashes all over the the place, its keep it simple for your aim point......

I’ve been shooting a 6BR from a bench for years and prefer the simple cross hair.

Of course the fine crosshair is better for target work, but it's not tacticool!

I agree, they're losing out on a lot of the scope market. The "contact us" link didn't work for me, it kept giving me an error when I tried to submit the form. I sent them an email to info@vortexoptics.com and that seemed to go through. Hopefully it will get to the right person.

Curious… do you believe that Vortex hasn’t done sufficient market research to understand their customer base?

Longbow, they have it. It's the ECR reticle. Small dot. I have one on 3 bench rifles. I no longer am even aware of the couple of hashes on the hairs. Remember, I can't use that translates as I won't use that. Scopes hold POI and repeat 100 percent. Are they as optically perfect as a 3500.00 scope, no but those are out of my price range and they will not make me shoot any better either. Adapt and overcome.

Its just that with that MANY scopes they could have one or two that are simple? I have the GE with fine x-Hair and very nice scope. Bought one of the 6-24's for my BR Air Rifle and the main X-Hair was so thick it blocked out the 10 dot at 50 yds! The ECR I'd like to have but at 1995.00 now thats getting up there! With my old eyes that is a very fine X-Hair. Maybe one of the younger guys will trade with me? LOL !

I have a couple of HST scopes and a Gen I PST. All same reticle. Works good for hunting things in the cold so you don’t have to dial and worry about the reticle not moving cause the grease is too stiff. Love the dials when it is warm. For bench / target work I like a small dot. Fact is for high power a small dot and fine cross hair was awesome (less to distract the eye). Have had to use the warranty on one scope a time or two and Vortex has been awesome.

As a prairie dog shooter l do not need a video game in my reticle. just give me a plain ole FINE crosshair. Leupold's 'varmint hunter' reticle is too BUSY for me

I am the exact opposite. I like to be able to dope the wind, without touching a knob. If I want 5 moa, I line it up and pull the trigger. If I see a Pdog that needs 6 moa up and 9 moa wind, I line it up and pull the trigger. I also use the moa hash marks to estimate distance, and it works quite well.

I have 2, Vortex Golden eagles and love the fine reticle and all the hash marks. When bench shooting 600 and 1000 yds on steel, I can use the reticle tell me how far off my shot is from the dot on the steel (black on white).

Now shooting on paper, the black part of the paper target I do sometimes have a hard time seeing the dot (black on black).
