@Rob01: I do think that is a big part of this story. If my math is right, I have, I hav 39 MOA to play with from my current 100 yard zero (16 MOA off the bottom stop subtracted from 55 is approximately 39). That will work for anything I want to do with this barrel/scope combo.

Of the total 55 MOA elevation, I only have 4 MOA down available from my 100 yd zero, which leaves me with 51 MOA adjustment up + the 20 MOA rail give me 71 MOA. I figure I don's need any more on the down side since I'm shooting LD.

The 20 moa rail only redisributes the internal elevation. Doesn’t add 20 moa. So you have 51 which sounds about right.
