Video Camera

I started shooting deer at fairly long distances several years ago and want to capture some of the shots on video. Does anyone have recommendation for an adequate video camera selection to film shots out to 1000 yards.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I use a $2800.00 Canon GL-2 but 1000 yards out is out of it's league for up close and personal.
You'll need some pretty deep pockets to do 1000 yards regularly ..........

Canon XL-H1S ==$9000.00

Canon 800 mm Telephoto ===$12,000.00

You could use a spotting scope, bracket, and a $300 camera to attempt it. 1000yards is a helluva long ways out. My spotting scope has a max of 45 power and don't think it could get very close to seeing much of anything at a 1000yards.

If you knew that a target would stand still, at least for a minute, you'd then focus the spotting scope, move the camera into position and start taking video. The real problem is when the "target" moves and the focus changes for the spotting scope- the camera doesn't care because you'd be using auto focus.
