Veterans Day -- Honor All Who Served

My dad served at Paris Island in a medical group, he was a dental assistant getting marines and sailors ready to go overseas. He had some months to go when the war ended and was sent to serve out his time at a home for disabled veterans in Tennessee. I asked what he did there, I worked with a bunch of great guys who served their country well and deserved more than we could give them, and I meet your mom.

I'm fifth military generation. My dad was a WWII Lancaster bomber pilot, I served a year in RVN and came home almost intact. About 40% replacement parts, but I can still shoot, much to the distain of our local varmints. lol

A good day in Chu Lai, RVN, as no one was shooting at us.

Would have posted yesterday on 'the day', but had a covid shot the day before and was on the couch feeling pretty 'fuzzy' and down.

I was at the grocery store yesterday, and saw an elderly man and his wife probably mid 70s, he had his Air Force shirt and ball cap on . I told him happy Veterans day, and went to fist bump, he wanted no part of that, and grabbed my hand and shook it. I hope I made his day a little better.
