Varmint scope

Any of them are good-
Just depends on what you’re going to do with them…
My groundhogs, crows, deer, squirrels from 50’-to 800yds know no difference in what is looking at them, but I can see eyeballs at them distances…
Now for FFP or SFP, I prefer the latter, don’t want my hash marks to move or reticle to change size, at different yardages…

Comes down to how deep your pockets are.

I got my scope as a back up SR scope if needed..
Leupold VX 5 3-15
Ok thanks guys I have a an older 8.5 x 25 leupold with varmint reticle and a 8 32 nsx & a 12 x 42 nsx NF scopes now but they’re on rifles already hate to steal from Peter to give to Paul you know what I mean. I’m retired and I get only so much money a month with retirement monies if you can relate. Also the wife is like a hawk lol

I been using the Bushnell Matchpro 6x24x50 under $400 and I really like them, got them on 204, 22-250s, 6mm CMs. Probably not as good as some mentioned here but for its price class, its pretty dang good.

Ok thanks will check in to them I stole for my 223 and now I have to replace.

I would still like a fixed power scope in the 12 to 16 range. We use to shoot the heck out of prairie dogs in sandhill of Nebraska and SD. mostly in the 200 to 400 yards range with a fix 10x Leupolds. This was back in the late 80's and 90's. Scopes have improved. But to much magnification and you can't find your target, and watch if you hit your target. Even today scopes with variable power will change the point of aim at different magnifications. imho.
Well earlier I mention coyotes & hills & some timber

I like your last name my last name is koch also .

Well guys I stole a scope off a 223 it’s a 8 to 32 nsx NF I don’t think I needed that much scope for my 223 so I put it on the 22 creedmor & yes I didn’t want to spend the monies right I can always get a scope for my 223 later

You might consider warne mountain tech or QD rings, if you're good enough at keeping notes regarding settings then you can install picatinny rails and move the scope from rifle to rifle as needed.

If you decide you want a new scope, black friday is worth the wait. A particularly good deal every year is the swfa fixed power. Hold out and you can get some crazy good deals. My go to sites are swfa and camera land, but many others could have awesome deals.

Thanks good to know

Like alf I like FOV on the bottom end. With a 223 you should be able to nearly hold on fur to 300 yards, no need for turrets and fancy reticles. My got to scopes for coyote hunting out west WA, AZ, CO, NV, UT, WY are 1-4x20, 1.5-6x40 and 2-12x40ish, I have a couple of tweeners but none with more than 2x on the bottom

You will be saying the same thing ten years from now also so buy today !!!!
two of the nicest scopes are T6 and T10 Weaver. steel bodies. the T6 has a target dot reticle. I bought it by accident, cause I don't like target dot. wow, great reticle. Very glad I bought the scope! these are the older models accutrac. Cheers. MW
