I'm a lot less in love with Varget than I was two years ago. That's when our club got a labradar unit and I clock most of my shots these days. Varget, at least the lot I have, is not nearly as "temperature stable" as I believed. I've got some VV150, H4895, and R15.5 to try.

Yup, I've used some Acc 4064 last year and it performed well and was very close to Varget, though the burn rates were different.

I bet it is great stuff.

All I know is General Dynamics Canada is making most of the stick powders for North America.

They make LT32 and it is temp stable. I am sure all of their stick powders are based on the same formulation in different grain weights.

It was raining Varget online for about a 2 week period. Hodgdon was even selling it. Died out a week or so ago. Went into my local Scheels and bought N140 off the shelf a couple weeks ago so all that is encouraging. Haven't tested it with 6BRA yet but that's my plan. Always had good numbers with Vitahvouri powders.

What is a real replacement for Varget . I had lot of Varget when this shortage hit . But now I'm starting to run low on it . so what is a real replacement . I'm shooting a 6BR with 95 gr Berger's . As far as I'm concerned there is no replacement .

N135 for 85grn bullets is recommended.it might work for your 95grn.

I’m using it with 88s, and they shoot so well I sold my 108s

The 88 will reach far beyond my intended deer and pronghorn distances.

The shortages have been a blessing in disguise. I’ve tried more combinations than ever before, and I’ve seen better groups than I’ve seen in a long time. Stepping out of the comfort zone has been a good thing. I’ve used a lot more Vihtavuori, Alpha and Peterson brass and even found a new favorite flavor of peanut butter.

It’s been rough, but it hasn’t been all bad.
