Varget or what ?/

What is a real replacement for Varget . I had lot of Varget when this shortage hit . But now I'm starting to run low on it . so what is a real replacement . I'm shooting a 6BR with 95 gr Berger's . As far as I'm concerned there is no replacement .

I've heard of people using VV N140. Supposed to be close to Varget. It's listed right next to Varget on the burn rate chart. I've seen a fair aount of Varget available online. Set up notifications on Powder Valley, Natchess, Midway USA, etc. Even saw that Hodgdon was selling it a short time ago. I saw N140 yesterday. Look around. It's out there but you need to be quick.

Alternatives are there. Your problem may seeing what is available and quickly being able to jump on it. Old pfarts like me who are retired have the time to do that whereas working people don’t. Last Saturday I was looking at who had what and saw that Natchez had 2 powders in 8lbs that I never thought I’d find .They’re there !

If you want an alternative that NO ONE is talking about this is it.

Aa2495

This is General Dynamics powder made in Canada. They make lt32 and all of the other accurate stick powders. I'm pretty sure they make the Enduron powders too.

It's the same speed as 4895.

They make awesome powder.

8208 xbr and RL 15.5 like others have said are good choices (15.5 appears to be but doesn't have the track record yet and I haven't used it for long).

These days if you aren't stacked deep you get what you can get. Those 2 options are excellent powders. I've seen a lot of 15.5 recently but not varget or 8208.

Stack deep when times are good.

Over the last 6 months, 8208 has been as hard to find as Retumbo or H1000. Varget not so much.

I am well stocked, although I’d take another 8 of H4895 if I could find it.

Thats what I have always said. But a friend who set National records with it in a Dasher says that only happens if your load is to light.
It may be the case for sure because I don't think I've ever loaded anything close to max with it.
