Hi gang, Does anyone recommend a valve grinding compound that will work for lapping scope rings? Also does anyone know where I could buy the sticky product that is used to secure credit cards ,you know the stuff when you roll it up looks like it may have resided in your nose.I like to use it to hold things in place like a third hand or a little in a screw head will hold to reach tight places.
thanks Jeff

Clover is now LocTite

220 lapping compound is provided in the kit my brother bought - Wheeler I believe. The Wheeler 220 is $13 on Amazon and Loctite Clover 1777013 (280grit) is $12. These are likely a heavier paste than the tubes of valve lapping compounds. However the valve lapping compounds should work fine it may just take a few more strokes. Many of the valve lapping compounds are around this grit range as well. Buy the at any auto parts store or Amazon for around $5.

I need to get some also as I'm getting ready to turn some laps. I'm making them out of cold roll steel. Not sure how they will hold up but using scrap material so the only investment is a little time.
