Value of Remington 700 PSS

I have one of the early Remington 700 PSS rifles in .223

Is this thing worth anything?????

Will i be sorry if i take it apart to use as parts for a build,or is it just another Remington 700?????

In my opinion,it is just a different name for a 700 with a slightly different hs precision stock.

I have had two of the PSS in 223 and one in 308 .
The first one I bought new in about 1985 or so .
It shot very well the second one i bought used two years ago . PSS number two did not shoot as well as i had hope for . I started a build last winter and it is now done .
A Douglas barrel Jewell trigger and stock work is shoots very very well . 100 yard groups of 3/8,s inch is the norm . I,m happy with it and it is fun to shoot .

Yes it brings a premium over a plain BDL 700, that HS stock alone brings over 200.00 by itself and for shooting heavy .224 pills the 1-9tw is nice. Those that tell you it's the same ol' same-o there just not out there trying to buy one. Retail prices on those are pushing close to 900-1000 now. I've won a postal shoot with my 223 and let a friends wife shoot it in the LSSO at 400yds with 75gr Amax's. She had a lot of guys and their 3000.00 rifles behind her at the end of the day.
