UPS STRIKES AGAIN.

Why in the first place use the 'UPS Store' ?

Rates are higher than normal UPS C/S counters....

Daily p/u acct's are the least expensive......

IF..you ship a lot of stuff...I'd suggest open your own account

with USPS...Fed-Ex or yes UPS......pack/wrap your own stuff

Sorry for your problems Jon. I am well familiar with the UPS store in York PA (I'm not sure they could package a brick themselves in a manner to keep it from being damaged) and I can't believe anyone would ship any firearms related item there instead of driving a few miles up the road to the actual UPS hub.

FYI-
FedX Critical
FedX Express
FedX Ground are 3 entirely different companies w/ employees that do not attend the same Xmas Party.
same holds true for UPS & UPS Ground.

If you ship Bbls as I ship Bbls in PVC tubes the USPS has reversible Express on one side & Priority on the other side triangle shipping tubes that I insert the PVC tube into to prevent a round object rolling around thru the sorter & getting stuck or being used as a step in the truck by an idiot cab jockey/delivery person.

Of the thousands & thousands & thousands of bolts/packages sent by me to customers around the world,1 package has come up missing thru USPS Priority Mail in 20+ years.

Well I just sent a barrel from Illinois to Ohio with the USPS click n ship label for three day priority. That was Monday, guess what, has not arrived in Ohio, was never scanned, nothing but a shoulder shrug from the local Postal supervisor. It was picked up at my office by the local route carrier....mistake number 1, from there it has been all downhill. I have shipped rifles, bolts and barrels 7 times in the last 4 years, this is my second issue out of seven in those 4 years, lost bolt last time, actually the package was meticulously opened and when there was no pistol in it just a bolt the package was taped up empty an
Then sent on. I had wrapped the bolt in a plastic bag with my return address and eventually it was returned to me by the post office. If it clears thru Chicago, beware if it is addressed to anything resembling firearms related. Never use the word gunsmith on the addressee .

3 sided pkging isn't the answer, either. I had a bbl shipped from Az. Was supposed to go to Mt. Well, it arrived via the scenic route---California, where it spent 3 days, apparently just relaxing, then was sent to Denver then to the fine State of Mt.---a total of 13 days.
the 3 sided pkg now had 8 sides---good thing the shipper taped up the ends w/ the good stuff.

Hey! That gun you sent me arrived in perfect shape. Something to be said about a good packing job! Thanks again.
