USPS again..

C'mon Man ! Now you're makin me nervous . Just ordered some of that Thorough-Clean stuff , and it shipped on Friday .

ALL mail that leaves my town goes through Birmingham and ALL mail coming here comes through Birmingham. I had 3 Remington 541 triggers shipped back to me after smith work and they sat in Birmingham for 6 days. It's a one hour drive to Birmingham for me. That particular problem was that they didn't scan them into the system until they scanned them outbound to me so for 6 days I really didn't know where the triggers were. And nobody on the planet makes replacement triggers for the 541. I was very stressed over the deal.

I lost my temper and asked the postmaster why she hired carriers that couldn't read, and she said that's all they can get.....

Our current residential mail carrier doesn't speak English as her first language. The few interactions I've had with her make it very obvious. It's very frustrating getting neighbors mail and they getting ours. Happens a couple of times a week. I would have thought being able to read and speak the English language would be a requirement to deliver mail in the US but it obviously isn't.

I received a box a couple yrs ago from a gun shop in Surgis (not LRI) the same way missing 2 timney triggers. No acknowledgement of missing items and no tape of the box.

I live in a small town at the edge of Tulsa. We have one Post Office and one zip code. I have a PO Box inside the post office, I’ve had it for many years. In January they put a USPS self addressed envelope in my box with a label stating that my annual PO Box fee was due, they do this every year. I put a check in the envelope and dropped it in the USPS mail box, the slot in the wall inside the Post Office. They.never received the check.

They never taped the closing flap of the box. They did tape the sides, though. Thats the signature and note of my carrier. At least the sticker made it.

A good friend runs 2 car care centers. Two boxes were delivered containing a lift kit for a F350 Ford. One box was re-taped so he opened them to make sure everything was there. He found a case (not a brick) of Aguilla Super Extra inside. Evidently it fell through the lift kit box and was repair taped without looking inside.

Somehow, that doesn't even come close to surprising me with the USPS.

Ordered a part from XLR in Grand Junction and they sent it USPS to me in N ID. It went to Guam and now it's in Honolulu, HI. Maybe it will get here some day. LOL

I got some bolt work completed by LRI last week (great company). My bolt was shipped back to me on Tuesday by PRIORITY mail (2-3 day delivery). Today is day 4 and it 300 miles FURTHER away than when they shipped it from Sturgis. Grrrrr
usps JUST PLANE S U C K S !!!!! Tommy Mc

Was too lazy to drive to the UPS building and sent out USPS Priority Mail ( 2-3 days )
Well took 5 days, was delivered.
And I told myself to never use them again.
If I've sent 20 pkgs out, 17 were not delivered on time through them. Slow learner..

I use USPS for maybe 20-30 packages a year. Usually, they are delivered on time.
I did have one recently that went back and forth from Poughkeepsie to Louisville three times over month before it was finally delivered.

I had a package arrive at local PO only to be sent back out to somewhere in PA.
No explanation, no apologies.
In my case, the delivery was placed in my PO box and the tracking was updated to say so. Went to the PO and the package was nowhere to be found. They returned to the sender.

@Fast14 a couple yrs ago, ordered 2 Timneys from (Ward) around the same address and received box sealed up without triggers.
29 June 2024 complete rifle shipped from PA to Memphis. Arrived in city on3 July and it was delivered to me on the 10 of July. 7 days within the city.. But it did arrive.

Recently speaking, both fedex and ups have been the ones to screw stuff up. I guess it just depends on your luck, day to day.
Twice this last week, both fedex and ups said they had packages on the truck and out for delivery but I guess they both changed their mind and decided to let the packages ride with them for a few extra days. One showed up the next day and the other still isn't here yet. One was heavy. Fedex sent two women to drop it off and I still ended up unloading and packing it in myself. They clearly didn't want to. They acted like it was the plague or something..scared them to death. It was 99lbs. Pretty sure weight is why I didn't get it on time but no idea on the ups pkg yet. Bottom line, days spent waiting for packages when I needed to be doing other things kinda sucks.

The worst is when you pay extra for insurance. Then they lose it and tell you to pound sand they aren't paying the insurance claim!
That is exactly what happened to me. The package was lost. We immediately filed a claim. I tried to visit the USPS office location where it was last seen. They told me to pound sand. I filed another claim, same answer, we deny your claim. USPS is shit.
