What length barrel? Merry Christmas.
I've been in a slump lately, so this cheered me up. Very calm conditions.
Urban 7t 22BR .170"FB, 95 MK, 29.6gr IMR4350 for a very mild 2750fps, mediocre 11SD, once-fired just-annealed Lapua brass, .247 bushing, .2240 mandrel, bullet jammed as far as it will go (2.464 COAL).
Down side: They do kinda have to be BTO sorted. Up side: $0.33ea at Bruno's!First report for 95s!
All I want to know is.... When are you going to get a
6.5 PRC reamer?
Hello ALL,
Wanted to add my UR testimonial, to the page. I have a Ruger G2 that was .223 Rem, that I bought a year ago. I have known about Brad at UR for a very long time. Just purchased my first UD barrel, barrel nut and barrel vice from Brad about a month ago. I have never re-barreled a rifle until NOW. The UR .223 ISSF 1:7 in 26" is now installed. He helped me over the phone to learn to get the head space right (Thanks, Brad for all you do). His customer service is UNMATCHED.
I am no shooter by any means that is why I practice. My initial 105 rounds (5 Tubbs, per instructions) and then 100 of a bullet that will remain nameless, my initial showing was not what I had hoped for. Sometimes I am my own worst enemy and always want to try and fix things that cant be fixed, that is what I tired to do here. It was my fault, sometimes no matter what you do, you cannot turn a sows ear into a silk purse. I should have know better, but I did it anyway. LESSON LEARNED, NEVER AGAIN.
After speaking with Brad (he was on a trip out of town, and still took my call) I bought 80 SMK's from UR and these will be loaded per his instructions
Hoping the next outing (once we get out of SNOWMAGEDDON) will produce some AWESOME targets, if I do my part. I am anxious to see what this new outing will produce. Hope to add pictures of my rifle and targets after the next club visit.
I just wanted to say Thanks to Brad for EVERYTHING, and I eventually plan to build one of the rifles Brad at UR talks about, here in the future. I am SOLD on @urbanrifleman and Brad has earned a customer for LIFE.
Thanks much again.
Mike

@urbanrifleman - Here are my results from my day at the range. First, I'm not very good at shooting, I try to be but I still need a lot of practice. The Ruger Gen 2 Prefit 223 ISSF barrel I bought from you is INCREDABLE. The following targets were some different bullets, I wanted to try along with the known 80 SMK recipe, you suggested. I usually sit at a bench, but today I was somewhere else and I was standing behind the rifle with my rest , and was not very steady. I cannot say enough good things about this barrel. Thank you much AGAIN - Mike (PS - The first target is labeled 10 but there are 15 there)
Here is an update on the same rifle but this time I used a Berger 105 Hybrids. Much much better groups with different seating depths vs the Berger VLDs. All are 3 shot groups. I did not bother to measure the groups sizes, but the target grid is 1MOA so.. I'm pretty happy with the result. This was shot in December 2025 with mild cross winds. Round count on the barrel is about 350 now. Here are some pics from my first ever custom 6BR build. 26in 1/8 UR heavy barrel, Kauger CRS action. These are the best groups from my first range session. I think I can make them tighter next time. I am still working on finding the best seating depth for the Berger 105 VLDs. All groups are 5 shots 100yds. If I did 3 shot groups most of these would have been a single hole. Good times. I'm happy so far.

I forgot to add that the powder charge on these loads was done with a RCBS ChargeMaster Lite, which is not the most accurate powder drop out there (0.1gn accuracy) but still decent for the $. I recently purchased the AutoTrickler V4 powder scale thats accurate to 0.02grains. Eliminating the powder scale as a factor thats affecting groups should help me out greatly. I am also testing a new LE Wilson inline seater + Arbor press. I am expecting even better groups on the next range sessions.Oooooooo.... nice.
