UPS Taking Photo During Package Delivery

UPS dropped off an order, and later, I went into my email
account to delete all the tracking they sent me. The last one that
said "Delivered" had a side note that said "See Photo". Sure enough,
there was a rough picture of the package at my front door !! Anyone
else ever seen this, or am I still under a rock ??......LOL

What’s wrong with living under a rock? I carved out a cave and I’m very happy here! I don’t like or look at their emails, I don’t “submit feedback” to ALL the companies that want it and I don’t answer my phone when I’m busy. I’m strongly resisting becoming a “tech slave”!

Yea unless someone there actually sees them deliver they are required to take a pic of the package.

Yes have had the Service for the past few months.
Fly over Oregone

Yea they are big on proof these days. Ive had them take a picture of a delivered package that had my foot in the picture. Who needed proof that it was delivered more than me? I was right here I had it in my hand 2 seconds later.

They've been doing that for the last several years. We get them when shipping things to our daughters and families in O'Fallon, Missouri and Newark, New Jersey.

We have been getting this for about 6 mo Fuj. We have zero problems with UPS and Fedex. Now USPS, that's another story. No lost packages but 3 to 4 week delivery that is 2 or 3 days with the others.

A few days ago I meet the FedEx driver at the end of my driveway. He handed me the box so he would not have to take it up to the door (100 degrees that day). When I got the email with delivery confirmation, it had a picture of my Jeep in the driveway without me or the package visible.

With all the "Porch Pirates " I think they're just CTA to protect themselves on the delivery aspect of things. Good idea I think because it also shows condition of the package as delivered.

I've also saw a video of a fedex guy take a picture of a package he just set on the porch and turn around and pick it back up and take it back to the truck and leave. Was it the wrong package or wrong address or is there a flaw in the picture theory. I don't know.
Ya' know, and thinking about that a bit more......There is nothing to stop
a person from doing just that. unless you have your own camera security
system......I had to laugh when on the news the other night, A Fedex driver
just laid down a package and a second later a kid snatched it as the driver
walked back to his truck....

Depending what I have coming in, some items I will have the "signature
required" set up for shipping. Most of the time though, it's just dumped
on the porch. And on another note, there are times I never get an email
notification on shipping from some companies. I'll go back in and check
the order number, and it will only say "in process" right to the point it
arrives ??

Either way, this particular package goes to a friend who brews beer and is
very good at it. It's a 2.6 gallon inside charred oak barrel to test a barrel
aged breakfast stout.

Yes UPS and Fed Ex been doing it for a while here. It’s funny when I have deliveries from both how they keep them separated when they take pics

Porch piracy is rampant. In our neighborhood which is a one way in and one way out, had two instances. One was captured on video where the guy parked in front of the house, ran up and grabbed the package, back to the car and drove away. It's to the point if you're not going to be at home, have the package delivered to a drop box in a local store.
