UPS Powder Delivery Issues

I had bought a small (easily pocket-able), very expensive item and the seller shipped it USPS with insurance and my personal signature required.

The seller’s instructions were clear and they said inspect the package first before accepting and signing. If there’s any sign of damage or tampering do not accept the package, decline it, do not sign, and let it go back to the shipper because once I accept it the insurance will no longer apply. If it’s damaged or missing at that point there is no recourse.

The package was simply left in the mailbox along with the general mail delivery. Fortunately nothing was wrong with it.

UPS, FedEx, and the USPS have all fallen off the cliff as far as dependability.

I sent a large check via USPS certified mail with a tracking number over a year ago and it is still floating around out there somewhere.

When I initiated an investigation through the post office, they were able to track it to a location but nothing after that, and even though I had sent it certified, they had the audacity to tell me to give it a couple of weeks it may show up.

It’s bad enough it cost five dollars to send it certified but it’s the $25 to cancel payment on the check that chaps my behind.

Fed X, UPS and USPS can be a PITA at times. Got a better solution for shipping??? Either roll with it or DON'T SHIP!! Problem solved.
How bout a road trip and do face to face?
Expensive package requiring a signature dropped in the mail box? Be better if you NEVER GOT IT??
Gun powder dropped off with "signature required"? Be better if you never got IT?
Looks to me like there isn't SH** anybody can do about any of it so keep bitching and see how far that gets you.
Keep in mind, things could ALWAYS be worse. That order you placed, never got it?? Oh well.;) It WILL all work out in the end. Time to go shooting. :D

A neighbor managed a ups freight facility. His advice is to never ship anything valuable or sentimental - he personally wont shop online. Lol
