UPS Powder Delivery Issues

Ordered in an 8 lb jug of Varget from Powder Valley to maybe beat the
Black Friday rush before it goes back out of stock again. Either way, and
checking the tracker, it's a day early saying it's out for delivery And as
normal, I'd sign for it. Mail man knocks on my door about 10 am this
morning to advise me there is a package of explosives on my door step ??
Sure enough, there's the Varget that was put on the step, and no signature ??
Just dump and run. I never heard the truck come or go. I appreciate my mail
man for the heads up. We both agree that package theft is on the rise again.
That would be a big score with 8 lbs of Varget !!

If I remember correctly, package theft picks up during the holidays.

I've never had any problems with USPS or UPS, but I've consistently had problems w/ FedEx. FedEx always does to me what UPS did to you, even with things like gun powder or overnighted legal documents. They're reliably unreliable.

UPS and Midway.
My Midway order made it to Washington State, it did not move for four days. Tracking always said on it's way ?
Called Midway answer wait 11 days and calls us if you don't receive it.
UPS after my 6th Tracking request, came back Investigation Underway.
I call Midway you 11 days are not up.
I called on the 11th to Midway asked to have my order reshipped. Placed on hold.
The nice Lady came back and said way did you wait so long to contact us !!!!!!!!!!! That is what I was told.
Sorry you do not have to wait past the do date on our invoice. It hard with all are New Help.

Still waiting for my Parts ? New Due date 11/17/23 ?
UP never contacted me yet.

I get why they plaster explosive stickers all over the package, but they might as well put "STEAL ME" in bold letters.

I've had ammo shipments go missing twice with FedEx, which was obviously stolen by someone at FedEx. One of them was opened, ammo removed, and an empty box delivered to me, the other just vanished into thin air.

I rarely buy powder online, but when I do it always makes me nervous that it will never arrive.

I haven't signed for anything in a long while with UPS or FedEx, and fedex dropped of 2 m1 garands from the cmp earlier this year, no signature. I'm sure there is a possible class action lawsuit against them building up because of this

If I understand it correctly, the request for a signature comes from the sender, not the shipper. I have had various shippers including both UPS and FedEx that did not require a signature for primers or powder, because the shipper did not require a signature. It might be worth checking with the shipper whether you can request a signature upon delivery for hazmat items, because it clearly isn't done automatically for those items.

I just received #8 of Longshot today shipped UPS with no issues. But have gone thru issues with both Fedex and UPS powder deliveries. from driving to the hub to pick up my order to completely lost at local hub. Yeah its a crap shoot getting powder delivered when ordering online. Staying on top of tracking is all we can do and they know that.

Worked at fedex as far as I can remember all hazmat drops signature was always required. As for non hazmat that usually up to shipper for value not to say receiver couldn’t request a signature required

I have to say my UPS guy is great!
Normally one of us is home when delivery time (mid afternoon) comes along. He always gives us a toot and, if it looks like powder or other valuables, he will ring the bell. Did I mention he is always smiling and always willing to make a little conversation?

Not Bashing on anyone .....but as a consumer on the receiving end I feel some orders had a gun hater involved. I can say this because 80% of orders to the same address shipped through the same hub Hazmat included have no issue. Makes me think .....where was the dissconect....? Again just sayin. After all the amounts of money we are spending increases my concern about my delivery.

As I stated previously, I've received powder/primer orders through both FedEx and UPS that did not require a signature. Maybe these shipments were left without a signature against company rules, I don't know. But it's happened numerous times, which leads me to think that hazmat shipping doesn't necessarily automatically necessitate a signature requirement with some carriers. But I don't know that with certainty. What I do know is that I find having a signature required for certain items is a PITA. I have spoken with vendors that require a signature for items that in my opinion don't need it, in order to get them to not require a signaturer, and they wouldn't do it. Further discussion with the carrier(s) informed me that as the recipient, I cannot "undo" the shipper's request for a signature, which kind of pisses me off as I'm the one that's actually paying for the shipping, so I feel like I should have some say in how it is carried out. But apparently that's just not how it works. Regardless, it is my understanding from these interactions that the shipper dictates whether a signature is required.

Whats your address and when are you ordering again?:p

Having similar issues with USPS. Would be interesting to see if the delivery motto has changed. What happened to “ Neither rain, sleet, snow, or dark of night keeps the delivery from their appointed rounds”.

How can I receive many, many gun related orders without issue and then the package coming through with Gun related labels on it (primers included) and Hazmat charges connected get messed up beyond repair and tie up funds for a long period of time. Sorry but just feels targeted to me. Ok rant over!

God day,

Grafs and another site I use have started implementing a $25/shipment for requiring a signature via FedEx. Pretty sure UPS has the same requirement. They only wish to promise the shipment will make it to your door, not your hand. Otherwise you pay the piper, a LOT.

YMMV,
