Ugliest Glock Ever ?

I agree the full metal frame guns are very nice and I am still a big fan. However, my Glock 20 loaded with 15 rounds of 10mm Auto in the magazine is still lighter than my Kimber 10mm Auto with the magazine completely removed. Much more comfortable to carry. 1911's and a lot of other metal frame handguns will hang up and give you issues if they get too dirty. Glocks can withstand just about anything you throw at them and keep on working. For bear and other predator protection when going out into the wilderness, I feel 10 times safer with the Glock on my side because I know it can get rained on for days, dropped in the mud, fall off a cliff, stepped on, and kicked around, yet it will still function perfectly when I need it during a time of crisis. I doubt any other gun out there could beat the function and reliability of a Glock after rigorous torture tests. Plenty accurate too and tons of aftermarket components available at affordable prices. They are damn ugly, but there's no doubt the Austrians definitely know how to make a firearm that will function reliably in all conditions and situations ;)
And yet the US government put Berettas in the hands of those that need the most reliable guns. Guess they liked pretty !!!

Yeah those 9mm Berrettas are the biggest piles of junk I've ever used! Always failing to feed and probably the worst accuracy ever. Groups looked like I hit the target with buckshot out of a 16" barrel shotgun while shooting from the hip!

I never had any problems with the ones I was issued. Granted I new how to spot bad mags. We did have a massive issues with not sighted in M9's but that is just standard.

As to the group size you were getting. Some just can not shoot a particular hand gun. Then most think when you buy a handgun it is a forever purchase. Not the case at all. They are a disposable item. Just like the 1911 when we retired it. Those guns where way past their prime and should have been scrapped decades before.

I think somebody got a pay off on that one. I bought one. I couldn't hit a bull with it. I bought a set of Hogue grips for it and it was better but it would be the last gun I went for.

Yeah all of our guns were old. Still had the M14s onboard my US Navy Destroyer in the early 2K years. Plus I didn't know much about shooting handguns with any sort of good form or accuracy as a young pup :)

I never worry about what a gun looks like. I only worry about if they shoot good and function reliable. Some of my prettiest guns were the least accurate and some of the ugliest shot best. Matt
When your looking at the business end of a pistol who cares what it looks like !

I agree. The early Glock gens never fit my hands comfortably either. The new Gen 4 models (think they have Gen 5 now too) come with interchangeable grips that change the rear handle profile to give users the option of getting the feel they want. Pretty cool actually. The Glock beavertail grip attachment I use makes it feel similar to my 1911. Much more comfortable. Still doesn't help the ugly looks tho! :D
If you get a chance to put your hands on a gen 5 do it... I think you will find the new grip without finger grooves very nice...
