Turn Your FX-120i into a Prometheus

will this be like Kiba's design, with servos operating the powder drop? That would be amazing.

I'm making good progress. It's using the same stepper motor as the trickler, and it will be mounted right on top of the A&D scale. Hope you all still have your wind panel roof. A few more days and I should be able to post some pictures. I've been iterating on the mechanical design for a few days (lots of 3D printing) and last night got the electronics to cycle it as well as found a good way to drop the powder into a small cup without splashing.

Thinking ahead to Sartorius, the core will be ideal for the A&D but I'd like to design a universal mount so that it can be mounted wherever.

Still thinking 3D printing, or is 80/20 rail an option?

A custom frame is needed to hold everything together, but it could be attached to a rail so you can mount it however you like. With the A&D my objective is to keep it as close to the pan as possible because that means less velocity for the powder and less tubing to worry about.

I am using a stainless shot glass for my powder pan, really easy to dump into with the powder scoop. Should be able to handle thrown charge from above too with no bouncing kernels.

When you get your design complete, I will take an upgrade kit.

I guess after just getting my autotrickler set up I have to complain to Adam. WHY the heck did you not take my money sooner!!!
Awesome tool. Only had a couple minutes to play with it but worst charge was .04 over

Any concern for the moving servo parts while the scale is finishing up the measurements?

When will this be available?

Not long. Just have to sort out some details. I want to use a small pulley on the motor for more torque and look into machining the other one. Maybe use toothed timing pulleys. The overall design, electronics, code all done.

Any hints as to what kinda price range you're pondering for this upgrade Adam?

This'd be of greater value to me than 'obsoleting' my 35P.

Gonna be a bunch of powder measures for sale here pretty soon I suspect...

I have a price in mind but I can't pick a number until I understand all the costs. If you think about it, it's just as complex as the trickler - printed base, motor, pulley, electronics, cables... but it should be less since it's functionally an addon.

Adam,

Great - I want one as well!

. . . with the preferred, returning customer discount, correct? ;)

(Original AutoTrickler-V1, improved AutoTrickler-V2 modifications, and now the AutoThrow . . .)

Just got.mine all put together. Haven't even loaded any rounds yet.

Now we have to have new parts coming.

One question. Will you have to set up the powder measure manually or in your electronic wizardry will it just know what to do?
