Turn Your FX-120i into a Prometheus

Stepper motors work by sending it a digital sequence to make it turn "one step". The time between steps is how you control the speed. Unless there is a mechanical stoppage, the speed control will be exact. More voltage produces higher torque in case you have mechanical resistance.

When comparing rates of weighing charges, ensure that the same steps are included. I usually consider weighing and charging but not seating because I do that at the end. I only have one table and can't touch the press while the scale is working.

It used to take me 45 seconds per charge with the Hornady Autocharge then trickling manually with a 502 beam balance. With two pans going in parallel. That was the reason I built this in the first place. I was literally in physical pain after loading.

The gold pan is RCBS. I like it. Its expensive standalone but available on Midway.

Nice job regardless of what people say. Jealousy gets people no where, no matter how unconscious the thought. The charge master is ok but I'm skeptical as to how fast it is according to some. Thanks again.

Current price $710 Canadian ~= $545 US. Probably a bit more, depending on what exchange rate they are using the day you order. Bought mine there. They actually ship them from a US location, so there's no duty/import issues.

thanks came out to 577.48 shipped. I've done arduino projects before and have always wanted to do this project, i guess seeing a product come to market has made me want to try and do it better.

If this is your first mag force scale, you're gonna love it. And competition spurs innovation :)

Ordered one from discount scales link above and with the cover it came to $618 shipped. Also ordered it late Wednesday night and got an email stating that I'll have it Friday so very quick shipping.

I think this is for new orders but don't want to put words in Adam's mouth. Email him and he may give you a better estimate based off of when you ordered (what number in line you are). I was an early bird as well...I can't force myself to use my old method of manually trickling up when I know this little magical device is in the works for me lol.

I have done a photo shoot with the new improvements for the purposes of user manual. Here is the first look at the final design. The first 50 orders are shipping this week. Production is going well (but it is a TON of work).

Note the slider in the back. You can reach behind with your left hand and nudge the slider to fine tune the ramp-down for the powder in use. It only takes a few charges to find the sweet spot and you are good to go until you switch powders again.

I think putting the slider back in that spot which is not used is a very good idea. The only suggestion I have is to put a dust cover on the serial port so that none of the leads are exposed so that it has a much more finished appearance. Perhaps that is your intention since this is probably still a prototype.
