Tuner adjustment..

This winter I put together a 30BR on a 700SA.. I have never used a tuner or saw one used but talked to Mike @ gunsandgunsmithing and deceided to give on a try. During load testing I saw node @ 32.0 gr and working up as far as I could get was 33.8 and encountered stiff bolt lift so I backed off to 33.5 and thought I'd see if a tuner adjustment would help bring things together.. The 33.5 load was not very good (.435) but was as high as I wanted to go.. I had the tuner set @ "0" so I moved it to "31" (1 mark) and did 2/ 3 shot groups they got a little smaller (.302) so I moved the tuner 1 more mark to "30" and shot to more 3 shot groups,, I could not believe how much the groups changed, alot smaller a .181 and a .145. I was amazed at change.. I thought the 32.0 gr load I started with was better that the 33.5 w/ tuner set @ "0"" so I loaded up 3 rds @ 32.0 and they went into the same hole so I loaded up 2 more it 0pened up but still not bad. the 5 shot group went .230..
I'll go back and play with a load @ that tuner setting now and see what I can come up with.. I think I'm a believer now... by the way thanks Mike..great product

That's how tuners work! It's really just that simple, too!
Thanks for the report. Let me know if I can ever be of help.--Mike

Keep moving the tuner in 1 mark increments, until you establish what in and out of tune "look" like. That'll be your total range of adjustment, when needed..although you'll probably never need to move more than a mark or two, in use. Very likely, from all the way out, to all the way back in tune will be about 4 marks wide. Try adustments less than a mark wide next.--Mike
