TSRA 2024 LR Championships

This was a new format for the match and a massive software update. We did pair fire all weekend and on the second day, the squadding was done just prior to the match to reflect the cumulative scores up to the latest match. The scores were all in the Shotmarker system and could be viewed in your client (table or smartphone) as each match finished. They only printed stuff at the end of the competition.
In the future we will need to come up with a way to share this. It should not be an issue.

Just FYI, we have displays in the main tent on which people could view a match live, without using their own device. We were displaying two targets, so we could see 4 shooters battling it out in real-time. (The groans, the pathos, oh my.) I should think that in the future, we might even be able to make that accessible over the internet.

The technology is astounding. We didn't have to write anything down, everything was recorded and cumulated instantly. We didn't pull any targets, we just shot and talked.

I was sharing the scores from the system after each complete match on Facebook.

Congratulations to
Allen Tampke 2024 FTR state Champ!
Ray Weaver second
Jim Crofts 3rd.
It was a lot of fun to sit in the tents and watch those guys on Fclass TV. Final match was in some super switchy winds. You all made it very entertaining to watch. Lots of fun to cheer on and watch the 308 magic happen.

Apologies for second page. I didn’t realize I clicked the volume up bottom at the same time I screen grabbed the photo. But the aggs are showing

I have uploaded the pictures I took (or were taken for me) during TSRA2024-LR.

Taking pictures in a dark tent with plenty of sunshine all around is a difficult task for exposure control. I set the camera to use the flash, but sometimes, it elected to not do that and so the exposure is all wrong. I shoot in Fine JPEG and Raw so I have everything I need to fix the badly exposed picture, except for time. So, it will be an ongoing process and I will update the pictures as I clean them up.

Also, I did not take pictures of the winners as I was helping out with scores and other things at that time.

Is there any info on who were the members from each team?
That is a great question. In the olden days of yore, when the dinosaurs roamed the earth before the asteroid showed up, each team would be issued a score card for each match on which they would write down all the info: Team name, target number, team captain, coach, and each shooters name. The scorers would then fill out scores for each shot, everything would be totaled up and signed and then handed back to match management who could then tabulate the scores and publish complete results with pertinent detail.

This year everything was done electronically and by individuals. I was sent the spreadsheet that you see above and had to guess at the team names by target number from a picture of a handwritten target assignment sheet.

Do remember that TSRA matches are TSRA's responsibility. BRI hosts the matches and supports TSRA but it's a TSRA event. If TSRA sends me more complete scoresheets, I will gladly post them at the website.

I have cleaned up the first 50 of 181 pictures and posted them at the NikonImageSpace. It's taking some time as I have to adjust the shadows, highlights and the white balance. Those are tricky conditions in which to take pictures (under a cover with bright sunshine all around.) You will notice that the grass is overexposed in the fixed photos, that's the tradeoff with a narrow dynamic range.
